    That narrative exists because he’s done it lol. The Jays are good at player development. They wouldn’t still employ Pete Walker if he didn’t make them better. It’s reasonable to expect the team to identify and acquire players who they believe can outperform their projections under their leadership.

    I’d love to sign Verlander for two years and fill the final rotation spot with one of the mid tier options available in free agency or in trade. No long term commitments added to the rotation and massive upside. Should still be able to add an infielder and a couple BP pieces depending how cheap you go on the second SP.

    Awesome news. Shapiro and Atkins rarely disappoint. Give up two of your top five prospects for a guy with 1.5 years of control and then get him extended a month into the offseason. Great work.

    They aren’t related but no way I’d give 33 year old Marte 100M. If the Diamondbacks are hanging up without Moreno why wouldn’t the Indians? Doesn’t really make any sense other than Marte is controlled for a year longer. Ramirez is the better player. The Jays wouldn’t have to give up Moreno for either one in my opinion.

    Ketel Marte is the ultimate fit for this team. He's going to make 8M this year and has two club options for 10/12M which is probably too expensive for the D Backs Slides right into 2B replacing Semien Can play CF Switch hitter Lots of contact Cheap I'd be fine giving up Groshans++ to land him 7 (!) WAR season in 2019 28 years old in the prime of his career
