  1. It’s not it’s 14M/year for the next 3 years Thats like Walker Buehler money. It’s 5% of a 280M payroll The Dodgers paid Mike Conforto 17M last year and he wasn’t even on the post season roster
  2. Maybe a 1 year deal for Erin Sanchez?
  3. Tatis doesn’t seem like the type of person Ross is targeting anyway
  4. Ya the fit is fine next year but I was referring to this season
  5. Agreed. His fit isn’t great positionally but you can’t have everyone playing multiple positions. He’s a switch hitter with 40 HR pop and he’s making like 14M/year AAV Can’t judge him on an injury filled season. Complete mulligan for 2025 from me.
  6. Much more palatable than the high end guys who are gonna get 15M+
  7. Atta boy Gibby
  8. I think it makes the argument for an international draft stronger when that happens I don’t like the idea of the union pressuring guys to do anything, if the market is free and fair then let guys do whatever they want. At some point the dodgers just won’t have room, frankly I don’t think they have room right now to sign Imai
  9. Perfect. We want the DAWGS from Japan and not the guys riding coat tails
  10. Guys coming back from Asia have had success recently so could be a nice addition. I think they’ll land a bigger fish though, Jays are going to spend and someone will take their money. Cant imagine they lose out on all of Cease, Valdez, Suarez, Imai plus trade candidates I would rather not spend on the bullpen. I would rather see a trade at the deadline to solidify it if they need to. I think there are enough good arms down there to start
  11. Still not as dumb as the Pirates fumble f***ing their handling of Paul Skenes
  12. Ketel Marte is definitely going to be available and would be an unreal get. Slot perfectly in two hole between George and Vlad, controlled through 2030 And then I agree completely with the upside risk since they got a sweetheart deal on Biebs. Plus Imai is so young for a FA just like Bo that you’re paying for like half of his prime and not ages 32-36
  13. Not really sure what to make of him. I think I’m just velocityist where I don’t love committing to a guy with a velocity decline throwing 92 Id rather bring try and get one of these Temu aces than Ranger Suarez. If unsuccessful just do like 2 years for Merrill Kelly as a stability play instead of 5 for Suarez
  14. Forgot this happened. There will be no return on that investment
  15. Ya that is true. I also wonder how much the Jays aided in Yesavage’s development of that pitch as that might be a selling point for Imai along with a clear understanding of the splitter in the org Is having 60% of your rotation throwing a splitter and 40% a gyro slider giving teams too many looks at the same profiles? Might make Cease the better fit, I dunno!
  16. I wonder if Imai throwing the same arm side slider as Yesavage is a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to building the rotation from the front office’s perspective
  17. Bo and Imai Dont care that I went over by 1M it’s 2% Not married to Bo. If someone makes a ridiculous offer I’m 100% fine taking the comp pick and pivoting
  18. I think everyone recognizes this and that’s why it’s been a topic of discussion for like three years
  19. Ya I’d be surprised if they didn’t add somebody with control either via trade or FA. Pretty much have to
  20. Kinda doubt the FO wants three expiring starters in the rotation anyway
  21. And I don’t think Skubal is signing anything until he hits free agency. A Boras client about to sign the largest pitching deal ever Id honestly rather use prospects to trade for someone with control. Lots of starters to trade for. So much injury risk for a starter too I can’t say I’m a fan of taking that risk
  22. Yes for sure. Question is is it worth it for one season
