  1. Romero is on a roll so far vs Pawtucket. Still too many walks though: 3 IP, 1H, 2BB, 1K. FYI, Xander Bogaerts is making his AAA debut..
  2. Did I also forget to mention Wells hasn't hit a HR in a month?
  3. All those ex-Jays are stinking again--see these numbers: Overbay .245/.288/.448, 8HR, 29RBIs(most came early in the season) Wells .229/.274/.386, 10 HR, 26RBIs (same.. and his average has plunged since mid-May by about 70 points. So bad, they just called up Thomas Neal) Nix .249/.313/.299, 1 HR, 17 RBIs (only SS option they have--Brignac can't hit and AAA is bone dry) Ben Francisco (DFAd and released) And other former players brought to the Yankees: Youkilis .219/.305/.343 2 HR 8RBIs (and has been awful since his return from the DL) Hafner .220/.332/.440 10 HR 29 RBIs. The only player with even decent RBI numbers is Robinson Cano with 16 HR and 42 RBIs, .282/.354/.521. None of the Yankees even have a OPS of .900, and just two regulars over .800 (Cano, Gardner). Granderson won't be back until after the All-Star break.
  4. You sure? Yankees fans apparently are ready to jump off the bandwagon--some of the posters on the LoHud Yankees site were saying that the Yankees should sell--as the team is not going to get better, even when A-Rod and Jeter come back. Playing Seattle and Cleveland is one thing---but being unable to beat contending teams like Boston, Oakland,Baltimore and they couldn't even beat the Mets recently! I bet they get swept vs. L.A.(both AL and NL).. these Yankees are not a good team right now.
  5. Starting pitching is the only thing keeping the Yanks afloat. The offense has been awful--Wells is now worse than his Angels numbers, Overbay is no longer a regular now that Tex is back and stinking--Youk's been absolutely awful since his return, and Cano is hitting an awful .214 vs. LHP--which is not good for a guy who is expected to get 10/$250M in the offseason.
  6. And Toronto doesn't play the Yanks again until August..who knows what the Yankees will be like by then.
  7. You are right. D-Backs should be 35-31..and SF is not a solid team--they're below .500 on the pytho. FYI, here are the run differentials in the NL West D-Backs +21 Giants -10 Rockies +36 Padres -22 Dodgers -45 However, this will likely change with the Tulo injury..without him, the Rockies are a mediocre team. Dodgers are underwater due to poor run support, and the Giants problems are due to injuries/regression to the majority of their rotation..Lincecum, Zito and Vogelsong have been horrible. And BTW, this is how bad the NL East is: Braves +62 Nats -27 Phillies -42 Mets -50 Marlins -96 Unless the Nats improve, this division is Atlanta's to lose.
  8. And the Yankees are imploding--did you see that 18 inning game? That was some of the worst baseball the Yanks have played in some time. Youk's a bust, Vernon has regressed back to Angels numbers, Overbay has regressed, Hafner has regressed-- the only guys hitting are Gardner and Cano(when not facing lefties). Don't be fooled by their 6-4 record in their last 10--that was against Seattle and Cleveland, two bad teams. Yankees have tough teams ahead--Angels(with no Blanton scheduled thankfully), Dodgers, Rays, Rangers and Orioles.
  9. And playing lousy D doesn't help either.
  10. In the last 11, JPA is hitting: .067/.122/.067. Time to give Thole more playing time..especially with Dickey on the mound tomorrow.
  11. Pedro Ciriaco traded to the Padres for a PTBNL. Good depth move for a team that needs help due to the injury to Jedd Gyorko. BTW, the Padres are closing in on contention.. they're only 5 back of the D-Backs, and with the injuries to Tulo(Rockies) and Scutaro/Sandoval(Giants), the door is open for them to make a move in the NL West. Keep an eye on the D-Backs/Padres series.. Padres could be within distance of 1st with a series sweep.
  12. Not sure about the Yanks though--they aren't exactly lighting it up right now in Oakland.. it's now in the bottom of the 18th!
  13. C'mon, somebody in Oakland get a hit here! They just called it comparable to a painting on an ep. of Seinfeld.. ugly, but you can't stop watching it!
  14. Still no sign of a winner in Oakland--going into the 17th now!
  15. The O.co's a perfect park for him.. plus Billy Beane's pretty smart. And boy are the Yankees pathetic.
  16. Guess the Jays need to update their scouting reports.. Berkman barely hits for power now.
  17. Donaldson left the game.. Moss is at 3B right now.. strange.. it's like putting EE at 3rd.
  18. On to the 16th... once again, if you want the Jays game, go to SN Ontario or East.
  19. What a throw by Wells and a collision by Stewart and Moss! Saves the Yanks from losing the game(for now.)
  20. Darn it Vernon... this game is never going to end!
  21. Napoli just got hurt after hitting a double..
  22. And Tex pops up.. Yanks are now 1-13 with RISP. Can't win games like that..
  23. Angels fans are probably excited about the Yanks/A's game--they're in the 14th now tied 2-2.. the reason is because the Yankees will likely burn out their bullpen trying to get through this game.. and they just might!(Tex, Hafner, Youk and Wells are 0-20 today.. the Yanks can't score! Cano is the only one hitting. And Ichiro..)
