  1. A's win! Jays 4.5 back. With the Jays now in the 5 games or less back area, selling is not an option anymore. Hopefully the US media gets the point that we're not giving up Josh Johnson, Mark Buehrle, etc. anytime soon.
  2. Correction--Jays are only 1.5 back of Tampa now. A good series against Baltimore and we're finally out of the basement. Any guesses how Tampa is doing so poorly?
  3. Well, with no Ryan Braun in Milwaukee's lineup, it helps a lot.
  4. Agreed. Especially with the Yankees being a MASH unit offensively, Tampa having pitching and hitting issues, and Texas struggling to pitch as their young starters hit a wall. Jury's still out on the O's, though.
  5. What happened to Tampa? 3-7 in their last 10, and plunging as fast as Texas and NY in the wild card race. Suddenly, Toronto being in the race is looking more of a possibilty.
  6. Rangers losing to Oakland. Jays will be 4.5 back with an Oakland win. And we have Tampa within our sights--yet another loss for the struggling Rays. We're only 2 back of Tampa now, and 4.5 back of the Yankees(pending the double-dip tomorrow)
  7. Rockies are getting ready to DFA Francis after this...and WTF are you doing DeRosa???
  8. With a full bullpen as is.. he can take as much time as needed. And we still have Santos to think about as well.
  9. With Wang and Rogers pitching well, do we really need him back yet?
  10. I can believe it--and remember, Almonte's AAA numbers will likely drop against MLB pitching. Of course, the Yanks are desperate enough to have AAAA outfielder Thomas Neal on the roster.. it's a wonder how the Yankees are even still in contention.
  11. Mark Teixiera has been put back on the DL. Replacing him at 1B will be Overbay, and they've recalled OF Zolio Almonte to replace Tex. Here's what you'll get from Almonte: .297, 6 HR, 36 RBI, 30/47 BB/K ratio. Not much of an arm, though. Most likely the Yanks made this move due to Wells and Ichiro struggling, and Boesch is on the DL.
  12. 5.5 back of Texas, 6 back of Baltimore--and with Detroit facing the O's, we have a shot to get really close this week.
  13. Jays win! .500's within distance now.. keep it up! The next two starters are lousy for Colorado: Jeff Francis (2-4, 5.87 ERA, 1.54 WHIP) Juan Nicasio (4-2, 4.86 ERA, 1.35 WHIP) Beating De La Rosa was HUGE..it gets easier for the next two games.
  14. Well, they're desperate for depth in AAA--SWB's RailRiders have been terrible this year due to lousy pitching due to injuries, call-ups and failure for several prospects to develop.
  15. Izturis! 2-0 Jays! We're gonna win this. Janssen's going to slam the door here.
  16. While we're pitching well--Texas is getting pounded by Oakland 6-3. Nick Tepesch is struggling again. And Detroit's up 5-1 on the O's. With a win, we're only 4.5 back and 5 back of the Yanks.
  17. Here's Matt Belisle. Let's get some lefties up--he's giving up a .286 AVG to lefties.
  18. Arenado again! We need to watch more Rockies games.. this kid's a stud at 3B!
  19. 7 strong innings for Johnson! Another quality outing for a Jays pitcher. Now how about some runs?
