  1. Stupid chyron guy--that's Adam Lind, not Mark DeRosa!
  2. S-Rod's an idiot. Why the heck are you swinging at a 3-0 pitch???
  3. Someone get the umpires some caffeine and some glasses---that was a terrible call!
  4. Wow--not even close by Moore! JPA actually takes a walk..
  5. Darn Raymond--why didn't Rajai Davis try hitting him with his bat?? He's been so annoying to us this series.
  6. Can't wait to see who goes after tonight's game for Jose Reyes.
  7. Yet some work out for other teams, such as Austin Jackson, Ramiro Pena, and others. And of course, let's not forget the Red Sox's own David Murphy, Josh Reddick, Justin Masterson, etc.
  8. Jays lineup: Cabrera DH Bautista RF Encarnacion 3B Lind 1B DeRosa 2B Davis LF Rasmus CF Arencibia C Izturis SS Buehrle P RAYS Jennings CF S-Rod LF Zobrist DH Longoria 3B Myers RF Escobar SS Loney 1B Molina C Kelly Johnson 2B Moore P
  9. Will Middlebrooks optioned to AAA Pawtucket. A 60/9 K/BB ratio, 30% K rate, and a .192 average pretty much sealed his fate. Really hurts the Red Sox--Iglesias will get exposed badly offensively, especially since he's only a part-timer who's been playing more because of defense. His unsustainable .426 average is bound to drop with regular playing time--remember, he was basically a .200 hitter with no power in AAA. At least Middlebrooks will have his 3 HR game vs. Dickey and co. early in the season to think about while he tries to learn how to hit and walk. Brandon Snyder will be recalled to replace Middlebrooks.
  10. He's going to SF. Bet on it. SF needs starters now..they'll be agressive on Nolasco.
  11. I mean, look at that awful roster in Houston! By the time we face them, Lawrie and Reyes will be back. And Bud Norris will be elsewhere.
  12. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/25/sports/baseball/in-last-astros-are-affecting-the-race-in-the-al.html?ref=sports&_r=0 Why they say that the Angels might get hot at the end of the article was idiotic--especially considering the Angels are 10 games under .500, and have an entire AL East to fight. Also note that the Astros are playing much better since June started. FYI: Astros vs.: EAST Boston 0-4 NYY 1-2 O's 1-2 Rays (Not yet) Jays (Not yet) CENTRAL White Sox 3-1 (wow, the White Sox stink!) Detroit 1-6 KC 2-4 Cleveland 1-2 Minnesota (not yet) WEST Oakland 0-9(only reason Texas hasn't run away with the division--Oakland's a .500 team otherwise) Texas 1-5 (no surprise here) Seattle 5-4 LA Angels 7-3 (WTF? All that money and they can't beat the stinking Astros?) Based on the numbers, the real benefactors of Houston in the AL are: Oakland Texas Detroit Boston We'll see what the Jays and Rays do against the Astros in the next month.
  13. It was more the bats yesterday--the pitching wasn't the problem. Remember, Hellickson has won 4 of his last 5 starts--he was really starting to turn it around(except for the Royals start). His last start in Boston showed a decreasing fly ball rate..
  14. Exactly. Why do you think we've struggled vs. them since 2008?
  15. Feel good about tonight--Buehrle's pitching much better than he was earlier in the season(he held the Rays to 2 ER last time). In addition, the lineup is different for both teams since last time.
  16. Still, at least we'll have a better record vs. Tampa this year than 2012 and 2011. Remember, the Rays aren't the same. There's no Carlos Pena, BJ Upton, Carl Crawford, Jeff Keppinger, etc. to hurt the Jays. And Wil Myers BTW.. despite his HRs and his .294 average, he is striking out a ton, and not walking, as he is facing MLB pitchers for the first time. Wait until the pitchers adjust.. ask Will Middlebrooks of the Red Sox, who is about to end up in AAA because of his inability to adjust(60/9 K/BB ratio, 33% K Rate) and the emergence of Jose Iglesias.
  17. Remember, once the Rays pitching started to improve, the Rays became difficult to beat. Not listed: 2010: 8-10 2009: 4-14 2008: 7-11 2007: 9-9 2006: 12-6 So far, this may be our best season vs. TB in a while--partially due to the regression of Tampa's pitchers. Jays started struggling in 2008 when Tampa's pitching began to develop. This year has been more difficult for Tampa due to the departure of James Shields and regression of pitchers like Matt Moore, David Price, and that awful bullpen.
  18. What a horrible stadium. Even though they've renovated since that pic was taken, it's still ugly. Every time the Jays play there, it's awful because of the difficulty of tracking fly balls due to the catwalks(see Rasmus), the artificial turf, etc.
  19. Agreed. We did give Moore trouble last time--but Ricky Romero/Edgar Gonzalez blew the game. His last start vs. the Jays: 5IP, 6H, 2ER, 4BB, 2K Plus, the lineup is better compared to that start. We won't have Boni playing CF, Lawrie batting leadoff, or Arencibia batting 5th. My real question is--why is Moore regressing? His command's awful (4.7BB/9IP), and his K rate is dropping. All his peripherals are trending the wrong way. Makes you wonder if he's hiding an injury. According to Fangraphs, Moore's velocity has dropped. His fastball's down to 92.4mph, slider's down to 80.8mph, changeup's down to 84.3.
  20. Yeah right..we had a different lineup in that last start vs. Moore without Rasmus and Lind(and Ricky Romero was the starter) He's pitching to a 10.61 ERA in June..we have a good shot. And Hernandez--we won his last start vs. Toronto.
  21. Calm down. We'll get them tomorrow--Moore has been struggling badly. And don't forget the awful Roberto Hernandez on Wednesday.
  22. Oh well--it doesn't matter, though, the O's are losing 5-2 to Cleveland, so we won't lose ground.
