  1. Pretty much--he's going to fall back to earth, and he's only up until Lou Marson returns.
  2. Yan Gomes is playing over his head--and he's a backup catcher, nothing more. Carlos Santana is the starter there. He doesn't know how to take a walk either BTW.. 2 walks in 61 ABs. And there's a decent chance he goes back to AAA when Lou Marson returns. If Mike Aviles is supposed to be so great, why did Boston jettison him and replace him with an underperforming Stephen Drew, who basically draws walks and not much else. And remember, small sample size.
  3. Forgot to also mention that Boston's June sked is BRUTAL--with games vs the Rangers, Rays, Tigers, O's.
  4. Let's also cheer for Tampa this week too--they're playing the Yankees.
  5. Keep in mind Boston plays the Yankees next week--and Detroit gets red hot Pittsburgh next week.
  6. Now it's 12-3. Boy, does Boston wish they had a long-man right now.. with 3 more games against the Indians this weekend, they're going to need deep outings from Lackey, Lester and Doubront this weekend.. and the sked for Boston gets difficult, with the Phillies and the YANKEES next.
  7. Did anyone see that absolute blast by Mike Trout in the Royals game? It said 430 feet.. but it almost hit the scoreboard!
  8. BTW, I've noticed this in the broadcasts.. are the auxiliary scoreboards broken? They've been dark all the time during the game.
  9. Terry Francona is giving the Sox nightmares--and Middlebrooks hurt his back. 6-3 Cleveland. And Detroit is losing to Minny 5-2 due to Porcello's poor pitching offsetting Cabrera's HR. The way Cabrera's hitting, 90-100 RBIs is a possibilty by the All-Star break.(record is 103, BTW by another Tiger, Hank Greenberg. Juan Gonzalez(101) and Carlos Delgado (97) are next closest.)
  10. With all those 'roids Bonds was on, nobody wanted to pitch to him. And nobody's touching 232 BB...
  11. And McLouth is lucky he didn't get hurt on that play going into the stands. We all remember Lawrie going into the camera bay last year.. and the time Jeter ran into the stands to make a play at old Yankee Stadium. I hope they eject that idiot who threw the beer BTW.
  12. Man, how about that Machado! 21 doubles now. Too bad he didn't have any runners to drive in.. as Markakis grounds out.
  13. No more Miguel Batista in the Jays system: Ben Nicholson-Smith ‏@bnicholsonsmith Blue Jays release Miguel Batista per Buffalo Bisons. Chad Beck on DL, Thad Weber activated. Considering how much Miguel Batista was garbage, and callups coming to Buffalo, along with Ricky Romero being down there, no surprise Batista was released. He had a 1-2 record with a 8.36 ERA in Buffalo--he's done.
  14. You might get your wish--they're playing red hot Cleveland later this week.
  15. That's going to be difficult to do..but 50 saves+ is a possibility.
  16. Big deal--I'm more focused on the wild card spots.
  17. Hope this goes extras..I want to see a Betances sighting.
  18. Looks like Lester's going to finally take his first loss--6-2 White Sox vs. the Red Sox. Victorino's hurt again BTW.
  19. Not the first game. He was awful vs. the Angels last start. Royals are 3-7 in their last 10, and are about to fall below .500. Basically, the AL Central is Detroit vs. Cleveland right now.
  20. Guthrie is crashing back to earth... he's given up 6 runs.. to the Astros(including 2 HR to Castro and Dominguez) Looks like the Royals are becoming less of a threat..
  21. Too bad he can't switch to the bullpen and become a shutdown reliever like Cecil has become.
  22. From 92.4 mph to 90.1 mph on the fastball? I can believe that.
  23. True--but what happens when their "stars" like Jeter, A-Rod and Teixiera come back? This team could actually be worse with them back.. they're a better team without them right now. Overbay and Nix, along with Francisco would get DFAd.. Adams in AAA, Nunez on the bench when they return. For some reason, the team probably wishes they could stick with this current team.. it feels like the 1996 team right now, which wasn't heavy on star power, and had a young Derek Jeter.
  24. Anyone can be good when a pitcher like Sabathia can't overpower hitters anymore. BTW, his WHIP is now 1.32--well above his career norms.
