  1. Net Saves and Net Steals are both retarded. Why make two already scarce commodities even more scarce? I don't get the point. They seem like they would be annoying.
  2. Surprised to see Fields get the "Best Defensive Outfielder" tag. I thought he was still pretty raw on that side of things as well.
  3. The disdain itself honours me
  4. I love Seager but at 21 in AAA he had a 106 wRC+; I expect him to spend the next year or two as a below average MLB hitter, much like Bogaerts was. So give me the guy who will be better right now. Where does Kang slot in?
  5. Trout Miggy Davis Altuve (Kipnis not even close!) Boogers Machado Betts ... Catcher is a total clusterf*** after Posey. d'Arnaud and Grandal might round out the top 3 in a dynasty draft. Lucroy? Martin and McCann are both very old now. Does Schwarber hang on to C eligibility for more than 2016? Blake Swihart in the top 10? ... Lots of young players to reach for. Guys like Seager, Lindor, Odor, Russell, Buxton, Bird, Conforto, Turner, Severino, Nola, Joe Ross, Norris, Rodon... Age based reached were the most common mistakes in the DDL/BBDL/LOD drafts, probably.
  6. How the Yankees have handled him tells us everything we need to know about his defensive abilities (or lack thereof) - BTS
  7. I'm down
  8. Nobody is "likely orthodox".
  9. Why not fellatio? DIAF you heteronormative scum
  10. I would maybe be able to draft for him if he wants
  11. Looks like a good mix of people but my commitment probably wouldn't be there. I'm already thinking of dropping a league or two for 2016. It's always nice to get some new names involved. You guys should think about inviting a couple of newbies, if there are any interested. I will remind you that ~75% of the BBDL were complete dynasty newbs when it started. I also feel like guys like silvergun and TRM would have flown the BJMB coop long ago if the DDL didn't exist. So it gives people a reason to frequent the place
  12. It works from both ends. Presently competitive teams will like being able to keep 22 players, instead of 20. Presently rebuilding teams will like being able to keep 14 or 15 prospects, instead of 12. In the DDL, rebuilding teams tend to promote and MLB keep a couple of prospects anyway. This isn't ideal because it makes MLB teams a bit worse, so the league is a bit less competitive, and it also significantly hurts the value of those prospects.
  13. Do 34 total keepers (or whatever #). Max MLB players you can keep is 22 (leaving 12 prospects). But you have flexibility and can punt a couple of MLB keeper slots for more prospect keepers, if you are rebuilding. Maybe you can keep as few as 19 MLB players if you want (so 15 prospects). Total flexibility would be iffy, but being able to shift 2 or 3 slots around in February could be cool.
  14. Eligibility for the WBC is extremely loose. I think to play for team Italy you just need to like pasta and not be allergic to olive oil
  15. Sanchez? I mean I knew he had a taco name but that's still surprising.
  16. Yeah that works too
  17. open D man slot is possibly the optimal strategy though
  18. Ok Spanky: you have never won anything in fantasy baseball and are most certainly not elite
  19. I guess the DDL "elites" would be: Me Dinger TRM FTD North --> all have 3 playoff appearances = yes silvergun --> 2 playoff berths + 2015 champion = yes jaysblue --> 2 playoff berths + enviable offensive core = maybe? BTS --> 2 playoff berths + 10th place this year = maybe? Havok Torontofan Kingkat ---> 1 playoff berth = no Not sure exactly where to draw the "elite" line. I guess due to the exclusive nature of the word, you'd have to leave BTS and jaysblue out of the list.
  20. Selling some older players: Hossa Wideman Green Iginla Doan
  21. What would have been sort of cool is a redraft league where the participants are the previous year's DDL / BBDL playoff teams. A 16 team league of last year's playoff teams. Then it would really have been an "elite league" since the prerequisite for an invitation is past success. You have to win to get in, every year. This just looks like a new 20 team dynasty league that won't be any different than if you had just said, "hey who wants to do a new 20 team league like the DDL/BBDL?"
  22. simmer down!
  23. Hard not to get Deck McGuire flashbacks though.
  24. Jon Harris has a long track record. It stretches from when he was probably 15 until now. He wasn't born last year, and Toronto drafted him out of high school so you know they've liked him for at least three years now. 36 innings at the tail end of a long season aren't changing their opinion much on him. There are so many reasons that someone could be bad for 36 innings... It's unlikely that he'll ever be a good MLB pitcher but that has nothing to do with his MWL stats
