  1. co-managers are a plague on the bjmb leagues if you can't wipe yer own arse, move back home with mum
  2. this is an easy choice if you don't have your head in the sand wow
  3. Seems like a great way to ruin clubhouse chemistry, signing a guy to essentially replace somebody that will still be here for another year. But Bautista gains +1 attack when he's enraged so there's that
  4. Well all you guys are ignoring the other cool threads...
  5. Yeah that definitely happened. It was the best rookie class, like, ever.
  6. We are heading into DDL year 4 and I believe jaysblue and I just worked out our first trade, lol. Guy never budges!
  7. There are either some really bad picks happening or this is an extremely weak draft
  8. Newcomb is very attractive, even if he's risky. The Atlanta Braves agree.
  9. They are, of course, stuck with Verlander, Cabrera, and V.Mart for better or worse. Upton should be tradeable for the majority of his deal. Zimmerman might also be if he can stay healthy. Kinsler and Sanchez are off the books soon enough, so not a big long term deal. Same can sort of be said for Martinez, it's just semi-short term sunk owner money. They'll really have to be proactive and bail the boat aggressively once it starts to sink. This will mean getting whatever they can in exchange for whichever of those contracts they can move. I too would tie myself to Miguel Cabrera for life, but the Verlander contract really sucks.
  10. because only idiots look at splits for one season are you an idiot?
  11. Yeah Upton is comfortably above average but his deficiencies keep him from being a real star. If Toronto bought him to replace the Saunders / Pompey time share in LF, that would probably be a ~1.5 win upgrade. Not exactly the impact you want for this type of investment.
  12. Cute Why don't you guys go play cribbage, dinner is in 3 hours
  13. CC20 for Erik Johnson Sox sign Fister and the good guys sign STEVE PEARCE
  14. Yes, if they could get some economic upgrades on a few of their black holes and add some depth to make their team more robust then they would be fine. I don't really think it's a tall task. I mean their core is as good as a lot of competitive teams. Sale-Quintana-Rodon; Frazier-Abrea-Eaton (and Lawrie-Avila/Navarro-Melky can contribute); Robertson-Jones-Duke-Putnam-Petricka. No excuse for a team like the White Sox to let an arm like Bud Norris go to Atlanta for $2.5M. Actually, Steve Pearce would be a superb target for them.
  15. Not really. It's just a high variance roster. As many holes as there are star players.
  16. Surprised he only got 6 years. Should have gotten more than / at least as much total $ as Chris Davis. Not surprised to see the Tigers sneak up on one of the big OF bats.
  17. Coolest thing about Judge might be that he's walking basically as much in the minors as a guy like Joey Votto did. A guy with a strikezone that big pulling that off seems kind of good.
  18. Save for De Leon, Judge might have been BPA since Glasnow went off the board.
  19. Are we dipping him in Bronze?
  20. Sheet says you don't even own that pick. Are you not trading Rendon anymore in the other league?
  21. Guy is a 60 hit, 60 speed, 50 power sure-thing MLB shortstop whose tools have been positively buried in an ostensible sense by perplexing assignments from his team. The kid has been 5 years beneath the league average age at every level. A potential star, hiding in the shadows.
  22. Manaea is very divisive. His peripherals are excellent and speak to a top-of-the-rotation potential, his ballpark situation is ideal, and by all accounts he has a starter's arsenal (something like 60/55/55). But many mentions of him are unexpectedly lukewarm. BP and BA both didn't even put him on their midseason top 50 lists. I own him in the DDL and have included him in a lot of trade offers, but nobody seems to care about him. Who cares that "his delivery is stiff" or whatever when he gets results? Maybe it's just the injuries and lack of 2015 workload that kind of holds him back in perception.
