  1. True point. Reyes couldn't have killed anybody, whatever he allegedly did.
  2. The case against Jose Reyes has been dropped! yes. Hopefully he only gets 30-60 days, or something like that.
  3. I sincerely hope you wasted a pick on Storen. That was the goal.
  4. Gose is an average defensive CF and he has double plus speed. He actually has the peripheral tools that people look for in 4th OF. Gose actually has some tools and thus, an attainable upside. Carrera doesn't. They aren't very similar at all.
  5. I think if you stat scout he looks like a fourth OF. Decent slash in the minors, lots of steals, played CF. When he was acquired last year us stat scouts saw a direct Gose replacement.... which couldn't be further from the truth. Physically, Carrera profiles as a AAA or KBO LF/CF
  6. All the tools necessary? His MLB showing kind of demonstrated that he has none of the tools. Of primary concern is that fact that he's a hack defensively.
  7. I approve of most of these nick names, especially Boo-urns.
  8. Sure. I won't be licensed to practice in the ghettos of Fredericton though, or wherever the hell it is that you sleep on someone's couch.
  9. The dictionary is wrong. It's just an exclamation.
  10. Well it's not even a word. I'll exclaim how I want to exclaim. Wo!
  11. Venditte is just two replacement level relievers rolled into one. I don't think he is good, or even a decent LOOGY like people hope
  12. none of this matters very much except zeke thats bad
  13. woah woah woah getting ahead of yourself a bit it'll be at least one more season until you and him swap places
  14. Boxy used the #1 waiver on Tyler White? wojwejbh
  15. Which rebuilding team wants to give me a decent pick for 28 year old Brett Anderson?
  16. Basically comes down to two things... - being highly ranked enough in the first place to "bust" - an eye sore of a walk rate Ok, a third thing - a .691 OPS while hitting 16 home runs. What? There aren't a ton of options for the bust group. SRF (control) Pentecost (injuries) Harris (skill) and Urena are it. But Pentecost has already busted, for all intensive porpoises.
  17. Meh. Jays catching prospects all turn to dust. I'm over it.
  18. New blue-chipper: None seem likely. Tellez and SRF seem like the guys to pick but they are already pretty legit and highly regarded in certain circles. Pentecost could always revive his career and skyrocket. I pick those three. Sleepers: Robson and Burns Busts: Urena
  19. New legit = will jump big either into league top 100 lists, or the team's top ~5 rankings. Can currently be in the top 10 if you think they will jump into 100 list considerations. Can even jump to MLB. Basically, achieves blue chip prospect status. Sleeper = currently outside team top 15 or 20, will jump into team top 10. Or jump into an MLB role (ex. Girodo) Really it's just sleeper and deep sleeper.
  20. Their pythag was 102 last year. Should regress to 100+ wins this season.
  21. Some people do. Teams care about it. There are actual academics that study it. It's a rather nebulous topic though. The science is thick and not easily accessible. The science isn't conclusive on a lot of things. The effects also aren't binary - you're talking about someone's risk of TJS rising from 30% to 38% (or something like that) if they have specific mechanical issues. So the degree of risk in most decisions is probably outweighed by the potential benefits of, say, having someone produce as a SP for a few years vs. pitching in the bullpen. Mostly people don't talk about it because they don't know what they're talking about, plainly. So it's a good thing that it's not discussed all that much IMO. There's little worse than someone on Twitter s***ing out still pictures and predicting catastrophic injuries. I only talk about it because I am an expert in the field.
