  1. Jays24 is really demonstrating some twisted logic here, am I right?
  2. Yeah maybe just stay on reddit with the other plebs and C students?
  3. Hopefully Jesus Sanchez is no longer in town
  4. Kasevich would probably be an 80 to 85 wRC+ guy with no improvements, right now Probably better than Straw Possibly better than Gimenez
  5. The focus should be on what to reasonably expect - the outcomes in between, say, the 30th and 70th percentiles. Not the positive tail outcomes that could happen but very likely won't. Kasevich's offense is not super relevant IMO. His MLB chances will be dictated largely by his actual defensive abilities. I wish we had measurable minor league defensive data. Scouting reports are so often completely wrong on defense... I also get the sense that if he was a defensive plus we would have seen him already and not had to suffer through Lenyn Sosa and Luis Urias
  6. How are they allowed to hit two home runs in one inning? Isn't there some kind of limit?
  7. I am truly disgusted by these veteran players Guys like Bieber and Scherzer and Vlad and Springer and Kirk were talking such a big game about the organization and how good it is to everyone and how much they want to be here and then they show up this year and play like nothing more than slobs. Out of shape, unserious slobs. Freeloaders.
  8. Certainly not getting anything worth while for him The higher chance to sign him back on a cheap one year deal might be worth more than any trade return
  9. So if Shane Bieber after a decent playoff run only thought he was worth $14m... what does an older Shane Bieber after a disastrous 2026 think he's worth? What would you even pay him if he wanted to come back in 2027?
  10. Why do you say that like being 25.5 is a good thing It's ancient for a prospect and he is trending like a guy who may only be MLB caliber at the absolutely peak of his physical/learned talent, i.e. the next three years Aging curve peaking at 27 or 28, there is a class of AAAA player who kind of never even get given a shot until then (because they aren't good enough) and then they have no MLB utility from 30 onward. That is how he looks to me But if he is a clear plus defender at any infield position then everything changes and orbits that skill.
  11. But he's 25 and a half and he hits close to NO barrels in the minors. Everything really rides on the defense. If he gets a chance and showcases on D like Ernie Clement did, then he will get some playing time to prove that he can hit enough singles to stick around.
  12. lmao I was joking but it turns out that is what you were referring to. hilarious I don't think anybody cares that you were wrong. Happens all the time in baseball opinionating. Stuff models think his stuff is garbage so I really don't see any hope. I think he has to nibble because his stuff gets hammered. Not sure why it doesn't play over here.
  13. He sucks on the field And then people make fun of him off the field for sucking so he gets sad and s*** And it makes him suck more on the field It's a vicious cycle.
  14. shut up
  15. Yes we could. We likely won't though. Everything needs to go perfectly for that to happen. I wonder if they arrange the roster in 2027 so he can be the DH for a couple of months and then work back into the outfield in summer.
  16. Jeff Hoffman is an X-Man and his superpower is that the flyballs he gives up in save situations all travel ten percent further
  17. Very excited to see some turnover. Team is so stale. I actually hope they get MLB ready replacements in these trades, if they can. Why not at least continue to try and go on a run in 2026? It's not unfathomable for them to string off some wins. The core will largely still be here after selling - Vlad, Okamoto, Clement, Kirk, Cease, Varland, Yesavage, Miles, Rogers, probably Hoffman, probably Springer (who will want him...), probably Scherzer (who will want him...) If they cannot get a CF back, just slide Lukes over there and put Pinango and Sanchez on the corners. If they do trade Springer, that just opens up DH for Keys. If there is some opportunity to salary dump Gimenez (very unlikely) you just bring up Kasevich. If they end up getting some kind of controllable relief arm, that would be a nice immediate upgrade to the back of the bullpen which is ugly right now. If they end up finding trades for Gausman, Bieber, and Scherzer, that would mean Miles slides in and two holes are created. Bloss is on the 40 man and probably no worse than Scherzer. Throw him to the wolves. If a MLB ready SP does not come back in trade, then it's up to Dallas and Stanifer to take the 5 slot. But Scherzer isn't going anywhere.
  18. Not that interested Demetrio Crisantes is a guy I have had my eye on. Since he is more of a 2B type with limited athleticism, I wonder if he is sort of available.
  19. Or believe that he doesn't need to be fixed. I mean he has elite K-BB and FIP/xFIP. Not sure there are a lot of front offices that care too much about his ERA and blown saves. The bigger issue is the $12.66M salary commitment in 2027. This makes him worth close to nothing (out of context, but perhaps worth something decent in the context of a trade deadline where there are like 8 sellers.)
  20. He is sort of interesting because he has elite contact numbers but hits the ball harder than most of the other guys in AAA making that much contact. It's still just Tyler Freeman 80% of the time The age is becoming a red flag
  21. I would jump all over a two year extension He's basically the same SP he was two years ago. The higher ERA this year is probably random.
  22. And, predictably, the guy who was not even a good minor league reliever cannot hold the tie
  23. Comically inept team Literally can't hit fastballs down the middle Meanwhile other teams can do things like that
  24. Probably not tbh I wonder if there is a middle road.... sell and buy...
