  1. Sweet spot, and great trajectory and backspin
  2. Ryan Jeffers seems like a good candidate to homer on the first pitch and make the Yankees cry some more
  3. i'll let you leave everything if you give me your spot in R2
  4. uh oh, 2 on for Judge twins were asking too much of Duffey there... Colome is a gas can. coming on for the 4 out save.
  5. Or maybe he is lol. 8:1 strikeout to walk is nice.
  6. peep the Yankees odds on August 27th
  7. Sorry that's horrible. I hope you win it all because with moves like this your fantasy days are numbered
  8. Did you not watch his last game, against Toronto, when he walked SEVEN guys!? Gil is not an MLB SP right now.
  9. It's also not a given that a more selective or patient Bo would be better. If it ain't broke... And more generally - lineup diversity might be a thing. It probably helps to have a guy or two who don't sit and wait, particularly when facing pitchers with great command (you'll just fall behind and/or strikeout looking).
  10. It's great. Like all baseball statistics, when you are trying to use them to project performance or peg true talent, you need to be holistic. Things like FIP and xwOBA are good estimators in most instances but in some select examples they miss the mark, for specific reasons. Most people who have an inclination for older school stats are way too quick to declare players to be FIP / xwOBA outliers though. And perhaps nerds who are not well versed in Bayesian thinking are way too quick to dismiss possible FIP /xwOBA outliers.
  11. There has been no indication either way but it doesn't really look like it. He seems pretty uncomfortable after many swings. I would imagine that he is in pain and it won't be going away until he stops playing baseball for a bit. He is playing with a partially healed grade 1 knee sprain which is also the type of injury that could get worse. A ligament is stretched / damaged, meaning the knee may not be at 100% structural integrity. Running the bases is already spooky enough.
  12. A lot of people are probably still crowd shy, particularly with school having started. There aren't THAT many tickets available though if you look at the map. Many or all will sell during the day I suspect.
  13. I love Francisco Lindor (now)
  14. Sort of feel bad for Reese. More WAR than either of the others but has lost his job because of dumb s*** like projekshuns and visible talent.
  15. This is pure cope but I don't think it's that big of an upset. His offense looks as good if not better than mine on paper, largely because of Vlad. The gap on the P side basically disappeared with me losing McClanahan, Sale, Taillon, Wisler, Pomeranz, and Clippard all during or right before R1 and with Bieber never making it back. I don't really have a juggernaut built around a bunch of Vlad, Soto, Franco types. My team is a random assortment of hired guns. Dinger's 11th place record was largely due to inattention and not a lack of talent. And he got lucky with very few injuries during the playoffs save for the typical spattering of broken arms.
  16. the mistake had many layers. the first one was not waiting out Realmuto / jumping at McCann.
  17. Remember when the Mets paid James McCann (0.7 WAR) $41M instead of paying Realmuto $115M (3.9 WAR)? If they win tonight they will be 3 back of the WC and 5 back of the division. One decision the difference?
  18. The problem with the playoffs is that every game all of a sudden feels and sounds like Sunday Night Baseball.
  19. lol @ the Yankees having Gary Sanchez catch a rookie like Schmidt
  20. Are we sure baseball reference isn't wrong? I just don't even believe it. How could that be true.
  21. This is unbelievable
  22. Updated race chart with opponent difficulty. Now with a second column for results. I changed my mind on Seattle and added them this weekend after they won two in a row. -Oakland off to a bad start in one of their easy stretches -Very important BOS-SEA series begins -Toronto's tear looks beautiful in green -Toronto of course entering a crucial series. I mean they all are... but if Toronto can somehow hold serve through these two TB series they will be laughing. Most of these other teams have some easy opponents while Toronto faces the nerdy juggernaut. -Yankees have TEN easy or moderate games in a row after tonight. ELEVEN including tonight.
  23. Have there been any injury updates on Biggio and Espinal? Looks like Biggio played yesterday in the minors. Not that we need them. I'm just curious what the team will do when they are back.
