  1. Rowdy Tellez PH 3 run go ahead HR. So Toronto appears to have capitulated and sold the absolute bottom on Tellez. Hmmmm.
  2. Nothing wrong with low-balling dudes. Every so often a player will accept a stink bid. See Acuna, Albies.
  3. Watching his OBP slowly bleed out this year has been f***ing painful. wRC+ by month: March/April -- 126 May -- 116 June -- 76 July -- 67 August -- 18 2 years at $10.3M each after 2021. I guess if he can avoid further decline he's still a useful bench player given that he can cut it in CF so it's not likely we see him released, but he's costing the team when deployed as a starter.
  4. comparing the Jays to the Leafs is a bannable offense. be careful
  5. Funny what a change of scenery can do. He looked like garbage here this year.
  6. Espinal has a much better glove than either of Lopez or Taylor. And Lopez has a better hit tool. Taylor probably has the best speed and power but is the least likely to stick in the big leagues because of hit/defense.
  7. Canario is the same age as college players. He's a lottery ticket with more information.
  8. We might see something come out after the season where Cavan Biggio reveals that he had some type of chronic issue.
  9. Fangraphs ranked all the prospects traded at the deadline. They also included "compensatory pick" because of the Bryant thing. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/ranking-the-prospects-traded-during-the-2021-deadline/ Pretty hard to argue that Colorado would not have received more than the comp pick. Brian got a player a tier above the pick PLUS a player equal to the pick.
  10. That's funny, they ranked "compensation pick" because of the Trevor Story situation. Tagging connorp.
  11. It's honestly just a pick 'em. Could throw those names in a hat. Don't be too quick to heavily discount the guys with some MLB level struggles in favour of the guys like Meyer and Baz with clean MiLB stats. It's actually a pretty interesting bag. Manning, Patino, and Pearson have huge huge pedigrees but recent warts. Baz and Meyer have great MiLB stats but are untested at the highest level. McClanahan might stand out to me as the one guy with elite stuff and success from the start here.... You basically need a back-tested model to rank them.
  12. Yeah it seems like there was a big gap between insider and outsider perceptions of Martin and SWR. The gap has been correcting over the last week as updated public prospect rankings and trade analysis articles have shown that Martin and SWR have slid down lists.
  13. Kevin Smith below some of those guys is yikes stuff. big time statistical out of touch. there is zero rational argument for having him any lower than say 13th. I can buy arguments for being below Kloff and Beltre just based on tools/pedigree/upside even if I would have him over Hoglund personally.
  14. Most of the time when you are feeling borderline euphoric about a specific prospect, it's a good time to cash in on them. This is not financial advice.
  15. TINSTAAPP cf
  16. Your guess is as good as anyone's. He only has to bounce back partially for that to be a really good trade though. It's one pitching prospect, what's the worst that could happen? lol

Some fancy stats say he sucked this year. Like, replacement level.
  18. He means $500 on the secondary market.

He seems to have the tools to be solid. Looks like he was productive in 19-20 and then bad last year. This is kind of how the NBA works because you control players for so few years... you need to bet millions on some of them developing. Raps did exactly that with Powell, actually.

I was shocked they got someone as interesting as Trent Jr. For Powell, who basically oscillated between an injury prone and overpaid sandbag and a very useful sixth or seventh man.
  21. He can go back to Vanderbilt for a year. Or he can leave college and play independent / unaffiliated baseball. But either way he's subject to the 2022 draft, I think.
