  1. 98? Wacha is about to do the Wade Davis thing for the rest of his career isn't he
  2. Yeah, arguably. Particularly Davis and Leiter. Not higher than all of the other players but perhaps one, two, or three of them. I mean it's all the same when it comes to guys like Leiter, Pearson, Baz, and Meyer - any of the four could end up as the best of them.
  3. yeah it feels like some trash is coming late in this one
  4. Two straight games of Toronto not getting pitches clipping to zone and Tampa getting tons of pitches inches off the plate. Can it mostly be framing?
  5. Have to have a better game plan against Rasmussen. Just saw him so no excuses. Arozarena and Cruz getting the day off is a mild plus for Toronto.
  6. it was funny and innocent. i saw it this morning. insane that people are upset with him
  7. the fart sniffer thing?
  8. Pretty much. But you also need to list the names who never settled in.
  9. Pearson looks like complete s***, btw. Yeah he will hit 100 the odd time and snap off the odd good breaking ball but for the most part the guy is just pumping it in at like 98 and missing his spot by like one or two feet each time. He definitely does not look like a starting pitcher.
  10. ohhhhhh that's better thank you
  11. i was also under this impression
  12. So we have to cut down to 12, then there is a NPD, then after that it is a full dynasty with no cuts ever?
  13. Baz Brujan
  14. lol @ the Rays getting these calls when Ray couldn't get calls earlier in the game that were clipping the zone. can't wait for this ump report
  15. Annoying results so far. Ray was a bit off + getting squeezed.
  16. it's a slow draft within the app
  17. The hypothetical ignores the necessary trade. By the way, it would not take Bichette, Moreno, and Martinez; when teams trade for huge contracts they tend to give up low-end players and provide a bulk package of parts that might have fallen off their roster anyway. See the Stanton trade. The seller's primary motivation is getting out of the contract and there tends to be very little in terms of buyers who are willing to take on the money.
  18. NOTES - Boston and Oakland are suddenly streaking - Yankees in a tailspin, death watch, fire everybody and sell the team - Boston's next 5 games are crucial because it's a cakewalk for them after that. If they win 3 of their next 5, one of the WC spots is likely for them. - A Yankee sweep of Boston would make things very interesting. A Boston sweep or 2 of 3 vs NYY could put Toronto in a position to step on New York's neck - Seattle is 2 games back of Oakland. They are going to put up a fight. It kind of seems like OAK and SEA will beat each other up and then both miss out. - Tampa just had to put Kittredge on the IL. They will throw Baz and Rasmussen, two tough arms, against Toronto... followed by Wacha who is how do you say not a tough arm.
  19. someone will need to email blast the league with a big update. Here is the draft date, process, and rules. Here are the league rules going forward. etc.
  20. Change the question then. Tell me when to "stop" i.e. tell me the point where the Tatis Jr. contract becomes so big you would not take it. a) 13 yrs/$338.3M [26.02 AAV] (the current deal after 2021; under contract through his age 35 season.) 14 yrs/$420M [30.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 36) c) 15 yrs/$450M [30.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 37) d) 16 yrs/$480M [30.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 38) e) 14 yrs/$490M [35.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 36) f) 15 yrs/$525M [35.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 37)
  21. Yes, in a second. a) Tatis is very different than Stanton, physically Acquiring Stanton when he was 22/23 years old would have been pretty okay
  22. Ah man if only the Padres were competently run and their handsome GM didn't purge most of their depth in an extended series of blockbuster trades. It's only going to get worse for the Padres going forward, I think. Many of the assets they threw into the wind are yet to debut or mature into MLB players.
