  1. The simple fact is that he traded young, controllable catching depth for a not-so-young player (who had a horrible track record) that we did not need. We had all sorts of fringe starter/pen types in the system ready to compete. Gomes showed the ability to effectively play multiple positions for league minimum. It was a stupid trade regardless of when the move was made in the grand scheme of things. I guess one of Alex's "MLB scouts" must've saw something in Rogers that nobody else saw.
  2. What depth? Gose? If this team starts next year with Gose as a starting CF, we're done. Rasmus is coming off of a 5 WAR season in 118 games. That's almost 7 WAR over a full season.... Colby should be thought of as a building block, not a trade chip. The guy really turned a corner this year... batting stance that seems to work for him... was consistent throughout the year with only one poor month...
  3. I'd much rather attempt sign Rasmus to a reasonable extension than to trade him.... You'd be buying high a bit but the guy has so much raw talent and the defense is always going to be there. His defense is so underrated on this board IMO.
  4. Good performance by Fattie Jenkins. This is why you don't spend time focusing on acquiring pen arms. Garbage failed starters like this can come in and get the job done just fine.
  5. Crawford Cano Hanley Gonzalez Puig Pretty good 1-5 right there.
  6. I wonder if anyone will give Bartolo Colon a multi year deal. Something like 2/10 would be interesting. Guy keeps pitching his balls off and keeps getting paid peanuts.
  7. lol JP Arencibia is not the worst player you have ever seen play baseball. He's your least favorite player and he sucks ass but there are a ton of minor leaguers that couldn't hold a candle to him.
  8. Well that's disappointing. Huh, it's not even the worst Jays catching season of alltime (Sandy Martinez/Randy Knorr in 1995)
  9. Thole is equally as terrible as JP. Zero ability at all at the plate. Probably the worst single-season catching tandem in baseball history. It's gotta be close.
  10. If JPA gets a lot of ABs down the stretch and gets REALLY cold he still has an outside shot of a sub .200 OBP. If this game goes late he might get another AB or two.
  11. JPA still has the best hair in the business
  12. Nats win again! 4.5 back while playing again tonight. Things are getting dicey. Unfortuantely for them the Reds are playing the Astros tonight.
  13. Jesus
  14. Probably not, but that still doesn't take away from the fact that this was a botched deal.
  15. Seeing Yan Gomes succeed makes me very happy. People can say he's a fluke or whatever.. but we still traded a young, controllable, versatile guy for a fringe relief pitcher. More egg on AA's face.
  16. Exactly. We have so many other huge glaring holes... AA needs to focus on C/SP/2B Lind definitely stays.
  17. Zaun trying way too hard to be controversial again. Both guys are due 11M next year..... lol how can stuff like this get past the producers when they prep the show? How can they all sit there and agree that this would create a good discussion?... Unless Zaun just makes s*** up on the fly.
  18. If you don't take Gose, who plays CF in a pinch? No brainer.
  19. It's a message board. Take a deep breath and go live your life bro.
  20. Hahahahaha Anyone ever watch the Vice documentary on youtube about people in Columbian villages and their donkey wives?
