  1. Professional athletes are honestly the dumbest group of people in the history of the world. What good could possibly come out of making a statement like this right now? You are just gearing up for a pennant run. You just signed a huge extension. If you aren't out there making it rain on dem hoez every night you should be able to live like a king for the rest of your life. BRB GONNA COMPLETELY RUIN CLUBHOUSE CULTURE Like Votto has literally been twice as valuable this year than you bro. Sit down and shut up. It'll be interesting to see Votto's response. Probably keeps it classy like the good Canadian boy that he is!
  2. The last couple years really make you appreciate orgs like TB and STL. I don't follow the minors close enough anymore but their lower-lower levels must have some fantastic coaches in them. These teams just keep churning them out.... and STL almost never picks super high anymore because of how good they are. It's not just scouting.... it's gotta be just a perfect organizational philosophy that starts with the kids.
  3. The bat speed and incredible hand eye coordination are undeniable. Again, Barry Bonds was still the best player of his time juicing or not. The skillset was undeniable.
  4. Well our second best player (Bautista) steals third base with two outs with regualarity. The "leader" of your big club is completely clueless in these situations. This does not send a good signal to the young'ns. Obviously the organization doesn't place an emphasis on basepath discipline. Don't expect a change anytime soon.
  5. Complete lack of awareness and incredible selfishness. The chirping-at-Lind incident on the sac fly was what convinced me that Lawrie probably doesn't have the ability to succeed at the highest level. Wouldn't surprise me to see him out of the league before 30.
  6. Gose is lightning fast. It's incredibly to me that a player with his athletic ability/talent can't hit for a decent average in the minors. I understand trying to maximize his value by attempting to get some power out of that swing... but it's failed miserably and he needs to just try to make as much contact as possible. People love to trash Juan Pierre. He was treated like a superstar in the early 2000s by the mainstream media when he didn't deserve to be, but he carved out a decent offensive career via putting the ball in play and beating out balls. Gose will never have the contact ability that Pierre had but his defense and arm makes up for the gap. He already shown the ability to draw a walk. If he can just put the ball in play on a regular basis I don't think a consistent .350 OBP would be out of the question.
  7. So let me get this straight Down by two runs in the 9th And he gets caught STEALING a base to end the game with the tying run at the plate and two outs. ... He'll fit in perfectly here!
  8. It'd be a real shame if Cano was juicing. Such a great talent. Would've probably been a first ballot HOFer.
  9. Johnson hasn't been a valuable starter since 2010. He is nowhere near a top of the rotation pitcher. Talent-wise, yes. But that's fairly irrelevant with his injury history and seemingly weak mind.
  10. Another Jays prospect bites the dust. Why is Gose so cocky? A career .719 OPS for a minor league OFer is god awful. Bench him for a few days.
  11. Is Olt hurt or something? He's flamed out massively this year. Edwards has some nice numbers but is old in A ball.
  12. Redmond might be enough to put the inevitable Sanchez for Bruce Chen deal over the top. Sell high on The Todd
  13. Would be a great depth arm at the right price (come on guys.... He's not THAT bad. Scary peripherals but you could do way worse for a 5th/swingman) We just all know that the price wont be right.
  14. From a financial standpoint it makes no sense to do this now. It'll just hurt interest in the game down the stretch and the TV ratings will suffer. They'll bury it in the offseason and give fans 4-5 months to digest it first.
  15. That is a gigantic if. When he first came up he threw a nasty slider and basically abandoned it and started throwing nothing but f***ing cutters. I don't know if the slider was giving him arm issues or if it was an org thing (likely) but he should go back to what made him f***ing successful in the minors.
  16. A lot of people are probably hesitant because he's been putting those numbers up at an older age at each level (22 years old in Rookie ball) He should definitely get a look though.
  17. I'd like to hope that people have other acitivites in their lives aside from cheering for a baseball team. Cleveland is a dump. Hard to take these people seriously.
  18. At the end of the day, they live in Cleveland...and we... don't. We win
  19. Only two more years of arb eligibility left and he's due for an enormous raise. Top 20 maybe? Definitely not top 10. What are the largest arb raises in history? Davis is making 3.3 this year I believe..... Gotta believe he'll be making close to 10 next year. Bautista went from 2.4 to 8 after 2010. Ryan Howard went from 800K to 10M in 2008. Prince Fielder from from 670K to 7M
  20. If he was "not born to lose" why has he been on so many awful teams That's a thinker right there.
  21. I've pretty much lost all faith in Morrow. FFS I just bought your freaking jersey man. Can't you at least have a good season or two? WHY
  22. This could get super ugly, super fast.
  23. Leave Johnson in there to rot 150 pitches. Dont care. Make the loser finjsh the game
  24. Johnson former CY candidate Comes to Jays Lucky to win 5 games all year FML
