The Cano situation is a great example of why I hope the team walks away from Price. Two years into the deal and they owe him like 70-100M more than he'd currently get on the open market. This was a guy that Jays fans everywhere wanted Rogers to pony up for. A can't miss franchise talent with no real injury history. Two years later his contract might be the league's biggest albatross.
Stay away from $200+M mega-deals.

My offense was never going to be great at OBP, but Gattis replacing Jaso or Mahtook should make me a bit better overall. Really hoping my flawed offense can finish close to the middle of the pack and let me compete for a playoff spot.
He reminds me of Sanchez. Huge fastball, and minor league results that suggest he's tough to square up despite K-rates that don't jump out at you and some apparent issues with control. The Sox seem to think he has a chance to stick as a starter.
I don't know where his velo sat in AAA in 2014, but he was outstanding across 20-something starts. There's a considerable chance that Hendriks in the rotation = Chavez, though the team clearly doesn't think so and paid for the reduced risk.
