There’s no hope as long Melnyk is involved. They need new ownership and a new arena. So to answer your previous question, I’m concerned about the team’s future for as long as Melnyk has the team.

They averaged over 99% of capacity every year from 2005-06 to 2012-13. I can’t find numbers before that, but I suspect attendance was fine then too. And that’s with an arena in the middle of nowhere. This city will support a well-run team, especially with a downtown arena.

Yup. Corbin, Keuchel, Happ, Morton, Ryu, Kikuchi and any number of possible trade targets. There's no reason to focus only on back-end depth starters
