    Fangraphs top 50 free agent list is out, along with crowdsourced contract projections: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2019-top-50-free-agents/ A lot of the starting pitchers jump out at me as being good targets for Shatkins at their approximate projected contracts: Keuchel 4/80 Morton 2/32 Kikuchi 4/52 Ryu 3/40 Happ 2/30 Cahill 2/15 I'd be thrilled with any of those, and ideally at least two of them. Also, Brantley at 3/45 would be fantastic, and might even be feasible given that he has a history with Shatkins.

    When the Senators waived Condon a few days ago it got me thinking about how many unmovable contracts they have on their roster: Condon (waived and uclaimed) Smith (waived and unclaimed) Burrows (waived and bought out) Ryan Borowiecki Anderson McCormick Pyatt Gaborik (LTIR) MacArthur (LTIR) Dorion has been on the job for 18 months, and 8 of these are his doing.

    I don’t understand the decisions not to qualify Morton or Brantley. Both of those guys should have had value on a 1/18 deal. I’d be disappointed if Shatkins wouldn’t offer some assets for either player on that contract, and they’re one of many teams that could use help from Morton or Brantley.

    We’re at 37 total, after these moves and Jose Fernandez being claimed by Detroit. 36 if you assume Solarte will be non-tendered, which he certainly will be.

    I legit have no idea who Justin Shafer is or why he was on the 40-man. I'm pretty sure Rhiner Cruz is a s***** pitcher.

    Wow, our pitching staff projects to be terrible. Stroman leads with 2.4 fWAR, and after him Merryweather, Gaviglio, Pannone, Reid-Foley, Borucki, and Sanchez all project as ~1-win guys over 30+ starts. We have one SP3 and a bunch of SP6s. This needs to be addressed in the offseason. Our only relievers projected for a sub-4 FIP are Giles and Paulino.
