Not too excited about moving a guy who's never played 1B to 1B just to get his projected 98 wRC+ bat into the lineup. I hope he's traded for a reliever or something in the offseason.

So the decision would be: Morales for 11M in 2019 vs. Santana for 17M in 2019 and 18M in 2020 It's close, but I'd prefer to have Santana. It's a no brainer to prefer him in 2019 for the extra 6M, and I'm really not that averse to paying him 18M in 2020, especially with Smoak off the books. You'd probably project like 4 for for 35M vs. 0 WAR for 11M. I'm also pretty sure that Rowdy Tellez is terrible, so I see Santana as filling a hole in 2018 and 2019, and not as someone who would block Tellez.

I kinda forget Cano exists sometimes. He's low-key great. Everyone thought that contract would be a disaster, but he's 5 years in and has been worth 20.7 fWAR. If he puts up even 7 fWAR in the next 5 years the M's would have paid $8.7M per fWAR - really not bad on a 10-year 240M contract.

None of CJ Cron, Ji-Man Choi, or Nick Williams are going to be on my team past the cut. Would trade them for picks or SP 5/6 types.
