I've locked rosters in yahoo and started moving them to the sheet. If anyone wants to chip in and load a couple, please do. Also, I'll convert the picks into actual pick numbers and do the draft order soon (hopefully by Wednesday). Again, if someone wants to do this, be my guest.

Wilson Ramos available for a SP. For anyone not paying attention, he had a 132 wRC+ this year and was the 5th most valuable catcher.

Ugh, I can't wait for the season to start. DeGrom, Soto, and Acuna still feel like new toys because I was out of the playoffs by the time they got on to my roster.

Instead of actually sending him to the AHL, which would allow them to at least spin this attempted cost-cutting move as a hockey move, they keep him with the NHL club. Actual NHL General Manager Pierre Dorion's comments on the ordeal: "We knew that if we let the team know we are not going to accept what happened last (season), including how Zack played, that hopefully the message would be passed to the room"

If the FO thinks Eric Wedge can do a good job implementing their plans, I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt. It would be surprising, but I'm not going to complain about it.

It isn’t hockey. Awarding a team a point in the standings for winning a competition that doesn’t necessarily reward the same skills as the actual game that’s played in the prior 65 minutes is a random way to allocate a significant number of points in the standings. The NHL loves it because it creates artificial parity, and makes it harder for the best teams to separate themselves from the pack.

My current feeling is that the likelihood of the young guys making the season-opening 2019 rotation looks something like, from most to least likely: Borucki (near lock) Gaviglio Reid-Foley Pannone I think there's almost no chance of SRF or Pannone making it to start the year. Gaviglio is a bit interesting, because he's acquitted himself reasonably well as a 5th starter over like 120 innings if you think he's run into some poor ERA luck, though I still hope he's in AAA to start the year along with SRF and Pannone.

I'm probably going to trade elite closer Will Smith in the offseason. Would be looking for 1-2 high end prospects.
