  1. Yup. Safe bet he was offered 15M per year on a 2 or 3-year deal. Just didn't want to be anywhere by NY.
  2. I hate that Schilling isn't in.
  3. Signing Miller, trading/punting McGuire, and keeping Kirk would be phenomenal. Extremely deep group of 13 bats that complement each other very nicely.
  4. C - Kirk 1B - Guerrero Jr. 2B - Semien 3B - Biggio SS - Bichette LF - Gurriel CF - Springer RF - Hernandez DH - Tellez C - Jansen OF - Grichuk INF - Espinal OF - Fisher It's crazy how few hitting spots are actually available going into ST with everyone healthy. Feels like a Dodgers situation. The only real question as things stand is with the catchers: does Kirk start with the team? If so, one of Jansen or McGuire need to be traded. Or maybe just cut in McGuire's case. I guess they could also look for a better bench infielder than Espinal, as he still has options remaining. It's not even really necessary that our bench infielder play SS, with both Semien and Bichette around.
  5. The team's projected 3B was Santiago Espinal before this.
  6. Yup. This org has one of the best and deepest pools of talent in the league. They're set up to win consistently like NYY or LAD, and not in a short window.
  7. Great signing. Probably won't displace Biggio/Bichette. Contract will be well worth it if he comes in and contributes 2-3 wins while playing every day at 3B.
  8. Agreed. I have no problem with it for Philly.
  9. Cesar Hernandez staying in Cleveland 1 year + team option.
  10. Luba is relentless. Poor Heyman

I'm starting to suspect that trading for a goalie at the nadir of your rebuild and immediately extending him long-term at 6.25M despite the fact that he had been terrible in two of the previous 3 seasons was not a sound plan.
  12. Scalding hot take: I liked the extra innings rule, and I liked that it started in the 10th.
  13. Would be cool if the owners approved universal DH because it makes for a better product, instead of pretending like it's a significant concession to the PA and trying to leverage it into concessions from the players. But this is MLB, so of course that's a fantasy.
  14. Trading Pettersson will prove to be most regrettable.
  15. So Hand pockets the $1M buyout, and $10.5M in salary. $11.5 in compensation after having his $10M option declined. It's always been absurd that he went unclaimed.
  16. Would definitely prefer Paxton or Tanaka to giving up significant prospect capital to gamble on Taillon.
  17. Kind of crazy that all four players have completely flamed out within 2.5 years with both orgs having nothing left to show for any of them.
  18. Nope. MLB has, in an example of shocking incompetence, still not made a firm ruling on the NL DH for 2021. They're treating it as a major concession to the PA.
  19. Yamaguchi has survived the roster crunch
  20. It could work out if there ends up being a DH in the NL. Profar is probably the 4th OF right now, and could get a lot of reps if Myers spends a lot of time DHing. If that's the case you have Cronenworth getting the bulk of the starts at 2B, and Kim playing all around as a super-sub type. Pretty enviable depth.

Yes of course. Hoping to finally see Pettersson do more than backcheck really hard.
  23. Still two more casualties left to accommodate Yates and Springer. Yamaguchi will fall.
