    NHL Thread

Is Andersen going to be ready for the playoffs? Because the Campbell/Rittich tandem is looking pretty f***ing shaky.
  2. Everything about Matz has looked legit so far: results have been good, no red flags under the hood, and he's just looked good. If the team is talking extension with one of him or Ray, I take Matz every time.
  3. I don't even know what you call it when a guy just tosses up up there repeatedly at 60ish without really trying to amp it up.
  4. Not often your ratios are nuked before noon on a Monday.
  5. He'll get in, and I think he deserves it. 9th all-time in catcher fWAR, played a starting role on two championships, played his entire career with the same org, and generally seems to be an awesome guy.
  6. Any rebuilding teams want to take a flier on Leody Taveras? I thought he could help me this year as a 4th OF, and he has decidedly not done that yet. Not looking for a ton, but I think he has a bit of value. Would move him for a pick upgrade, or rosterable OF.
  7. I’ve been hoping the Reds could win a WS with him contributing meaningfully, but that’s probably not happening. But in a world where Harold Baines is in, you have to think he has a chance.
  8. Baseball is such a weird sport. Mendick generated like 4 swinging strikes in one inning throwing a 60 mph fastball.
  9. OK guys, let's move on now. Everyone has said their piece. If you have a burning desire to debate covid, there are places better suited than a baseball forum to do it. I'm leaving everything above this for now, but anything after it will be removed.
  10. Now Danny Mendick pitching and sitting 60.
  11. Tony La Russa has Yermin Mercerdes pitching with his team only down 6 in the 7th.
  12. Anyone else paying attention to Joey Votto? He's swinging more than he ever has. Swinging at 48% of pitches, up from 42% career. And most of that is being more aggressive on pitches in the zone (80% z-swing % up from 68% career). And he's crushing the ball - his 0.443 wOBA is higher than any he's recorded since they started tracking it in 2015. He's such a cerebral hitter. Constantly tinkering with his approach to remain a contributor instead of falling into Pujols/Miggy black hole territory.
  13. Congrats on the W Dinger
  14. Seemed to hurt himself sliding back into first on a pickoff play. Then a couple minutes later slid home on his stomach on a play that he could have moonwalked home on, then immediately left the game. Maybe he just needed to take a s***.
  15. Thought that benching was going to buy me two categories, until La Russa used Hendriks for the second time today, to close out a 5-1 game. Not going to make any moves. Not sure what to think of my team yet.
  16. It's worse than that. They used Zeuch first, then brought Roark in to clean up his mess.
  17. Zeuch could pitch to an 8 ERA for the rest of his short MLB career and Grant would still not admit he was wrong about him.
  18. Imagine using Zeuch in the 7th inning of a tie game.
  19. Nola with a 2-hit 0BB 10K shutout.
  20. Yeah, took some well-deserved boos after the second misplay.
  21. And McNeill promptly botches a groundout to put a runner on. The Mets f***ing suck.
  22. And he scored it lol
  23. Jacob DeGrom has struck out 9 straight batters at Coors. The record is 10.
  24. I used to say I liked the aesthetics/interface better than Fantrax, but that's not true for me anymore either.
