Shea Weber likely going to miss the entire season, and his career might be over.
-
What's the offer to beat?
-
The All Star break is f***ing garbage.
-
It sure is. Pierre McGuire is now the team's Senior VP of Player Development. Or basically, the GM in waiting.
-
lol at Toronto fans thinking they have it worse than Ottawa fans. This is a real quote from the team’s owner, and didn’t immediately precede the firing of his GM, who he clearly believes to be incompetent.

* a rosterable CF
-
I am open to moving a 2nd for a CF though. Someone who will also have CF eligibility next year
-
I'm not trading him you f***ing vultures.
-
Acuna and likely Bauer out for the season.
-
TIL the Marlins have a prospect named Mike Fishman.
-
Dodgers reddit says that most of those guys never followed him in the first place. Not sure which of them and the guy who tweeted about them unfollowing him is wrong.

Seems like PPD wasn't taking her allegations seriously, prompting her to make it public via the restraining order.
-
Clev was in there too.

I started a dedicated thread for discussion on Trevor Bauer. Subsequent posts about the issue ITT will be moved there.

That might legit be the worst thing I've ever heard.

That song is not good and I would have preferred to not hear it.

What's this now?
-
Yup. He's always come off as thoughtful and intelligent to me. Legitimately surprised that he put himself into this position. As you say, even under the most charitable reading of this situation he's a short-sighted idiot.
-
Soto has been disappointing this year, and I've shown a lot of restraint in not complaining about him TBH.

Dodgers score 6 times. Bellinger 1-5 with a single. Classic Bellinger.

What I was getting at and didn't word well is that I think we're going to be left with an unsatisfying outcome. I'm no lawyer, but it seems like an odd situation in that we know that he did what she's accusing him of, and now its about trying to determine things like intent and consent in the aftermath. I think the most likely outcome here is that the allegations (that he hit her and choked her unconscious) are true, but that he's not found legally guilty of a crime. Different people will have different opinions on what this says about him.
-
Can MLB suspend him indefinitely? Because there's no way he's playing before a decision is made on whether or not he's facing criminal action. MLB might not have enough information yet to determine length of the suspension.
-
I keep seeing people say things like "if he's guilty" or "if allegations are proven" and I'm not really sure what kind of binary revelation people are expecting. This is never not going to be a shade of grey, unless there's a lot of evidence that we haven't yet seen.

The "18M over the cap" people are throwing around is just silly. Gaborik and Nilsson were like 9M of that and didn't play all season or playoffs.
-
Has a star player who didn't see prison time ever lost an MLB career because of something like this? If Bauer ends up going to jail I don't think he'll play again, but based on what's been made public, it's hard to see him going to jail.
