Yeah. If Glasnow has to “choke the s*** out of the ball” to the point where his UCL snaps after 50 pitches to get results without cheating, then he’s just not that good.

I don't believe that his elbow would still be intact today if MLB had allowed him to continue cheating.

Interesting that they've been pretty close to identically valuable. I kept Clev until his arm exploded then flipped him (and Alex Canario) to Spanky for Logan Gilbert and Yarbrough.

I remember watching him as a Pirate and he had no idea where any of his pitches were going. He's been lights out ever since he figured out how to locate that fastball. He can basically throw 97-98 at the knees for strike 1 with his eyes closed at this point, and it sets up everything else.

I think you've already won that regardless of what Glasnow does going forward.

Shame about Glasnow. He was having CY caliber seasons in 2019 and 2021 when he went down. Feels like his arm isn't going to let him put a full healthy season together.

I bit surprised at the lack of interest. I have to make a drop tomorrow, so a 6 -> 5 pick upgrade gets Bender or Lucchesi.

What's Vlad's actual offensive level going forward? If he's a 200 wRC+ bat, then he's the most valuable player in baseball, clearly. If he's Mike Trout (say 170) you probably take him over the other three guys. If he's any less than Mike Trout offensively (say 150-165 range) I'll take the others. Soto had a 201 wRC+ and 0.474 xwOBA in 196 PA last year, and now he's back to hitting the ball on the ground. That's just such an insane level to maintain over the long term. If I'm starting a team, I'm not counting on Vlad being a Trout level hitter over the next 6 years, and I'm slotting him under the guys with a longer track record and a wider skill set. I do think there's clearly a 4-player tier at the top with a significant gap between them and the next handful of players though. Ohtani maybe being the only exception, but his durability is a real concern.
