The way the question is worded, I think they want you to state what hypothetical slash line would be better. It's an 'OBP > SLG' question.

I think they want the answer to be hitter . They're looking for someone to understand that OBP is more valuable than SLG, and someone with a 1.000 OBP would be the most valuable hitter in history, even if it came 100% from BBs.

That's a bad take. Most/every question is well-designed to determine whether the applicant understands a principle the team thinks is important. And it's hard to take issue with what they seem to value.

I'm in Ottawa. Try to make it to the Rogers Centre once a year. Really, the biggest death blow was Rogers deciding to black games out on mlb.tv a few years ago.

The Boston thing is weird. I know a couple people who say the same negative things about Boston (they've never visited the city). I've been there several times, and it's one of my favourite cities. People have always been really friendly, and often at Fenway people will want to chat about hockey when they see my Jays hat.

I don't see Baltimore paying the prospect capital to rent Soto for a year, and I don't see Angelos paying Soto's extension after the comments he's made about their own young core.

Yeah, if the directive actually is 200M, Soto is as good as gone. It just doesn't work. But from an ownership perspective, I have no idea how how you spend 630M on Machado and Bogaerts until they're 40 while a year later not having 400M or whatever for a 25-year old Juan Soto. Just a brutal lack of foresight and planning.
