  1. I could have sworn his first time up he called it the 2000 first year player draft.
  2. Poor Gray. Dropped out of the top 2 spots, AND he's going to have to pitch in Colorado.
  3. I don't think he will, not with the 10th pick. If he was in the high teens or 20's I think there'd be a chance.
  4. Everyone excited yet? Time to kick it up so we can be extra reactionary at pick 10.
  5. 1. Gray 2. Appel 3. Bryant 4. Moran 5. Stewart 6. Shipley 7. Meadows 8. Ball 9. Manaea 10. Frazier
  6. He isn't hitting the home runs, but last month he did have an .821 ops and .460 slugging (along with 10 doubles). I'd really just like to see him dh for 2 weeks and let the legs heal, assuming we keep Lind and EE in the lineup during that time.
  7. Outside of his terrible April, Melky has been fine offensively. We know his legs are an issue on defense. Why not keep EE at 3rd for another 2 weeks and DH Melky over that time, see if we can give the legs time to heal? I dislike having EE over there for too long, but for a short time period it might be well worth it.
  8. For one thing, they need the punishment to be different depending on the class of drug. Things like growth hormone should have a much stiffer penalty than someone accidentally taking the wrong cold medication or something.
  9. Since we have a pick high enough to get (hopefully) an impact player without the extra risk found later in the first round, we need to make it count rather than go after a late riser like Harvey imo. I just can't see AA doing that this year. If our pick was down around 20 or so (or unprotected), I could see him reaching for someone. If they're there, we need to take a Frazier/Meadows type or punt the pick to next year's stronger draft (hopefully messing with Boras in the process).
  10. I don't agree with it, but DeRosa has very good career numbers vs Zito.
  11. If we take Ball, then I hope we do that. I'd rather we didn't take him though.
  12. I think that's just plain funny. I don't think the bigger umpire did anything wrong there, but looked to be trying to end the argument rather than insert himself into it. Brown was right to complain about that play though.
  13. McGowan for me, but I like what I've seen so far from Wagner.
  14. Scutaro has been incredibly lucky today. 2 hits off the gloves. ... or not?
  15. Scoots dropped it AND he wasn't touching the bag when he caught it!
  16. Hmmm, I see that now. Home run call was overturned?
  17. If you look at half the technology from TOS, it would have looked unbelievable to people when the series came out. Some of those things are now becoming available today. I agree that the premise of that movie is laughable though.
  18. Nick Franklin with a bomb
