Vladdy might be getting one in the ribs his next at-bat. The catcher did not looked impressed at how long he stood at the plate after that home run. Also, FINALLY!!! Hopefully that helps him relax and he goes on a run.

No scorer is going to give an error on that. It was absolutely a play he should have made, but he had to go quite a ways for it and didn't touch the ball. It's kind of like the outfielder losing the ball in the lights or two outfielders thinking the other has the ball and letting it drop.

I almost streamed him in BORED but took Adams and Bassitt instead. It probably won't matter for me regardless.

That doesn't change today's challenge as a batter being really bad. We need to stop challenging borderline pitches early in the game unless it's in an important situation.

Friedl was placed on waivers. He'd be an interesting pickup to replace Straw next year (and probably slightly cheaper). He has 2 minor league options and isn't a free agent until 2029. He put up 4.1 WAR in 2023 and 3.1 WAR last year. We won't talk about this year. Suarez was also put on waivers and is a free agent after this year. He could be a nice option to provide some much needed pop if Springer could play some occasional outfield down the stretch. -
How the hell does that even happen at the major league level?
