  1. Jose got jammed a bit on that one too by the looks of it. That's how you respond to the pitcher knocking you off the plate!
  2. Morrow looked like he barely had the energy to lift up his head let alone throw a tantrum. Probably either flu or perhaps an issue with his diabetes.
  3. Melky lining everything right now. Needs to aim them better though.
  4. Morrow needs to stop worrying so much about what pitch he's throwing and more about where he's throwing it. It seems like every time he shakes JPA off something bad happens.
  5. Just put a note at the end of the summary. If people are too lazy to read that far, they don't deserve the highlight links anyhow. Underlining on all of that would just look funny.
  6. I miss the old Jays commercials. Both the talking heads and the previous ones. At least they were kind of amusing. I think my favorites were the bee hive one and the Woodward canoe one.
  7. If his velocity was that low, there's probably something more to it (like an injury).
  8. Yup, Ackley was just optioned down.
  9. I don't really know what to make of Ackley. By the time we get closer to the trade deadline, hopefully we have a better idea in what we have with Boni. His defense seems to be improving, as well as the bat. There could be other names that pop up between now and then as well.
  10. Looks like the Mariners finally called up Nick Franklin. Was wondering how long they could let the Ackley/Ryan combo stink it up offensively (although Ryan is finally in a little hot streak).
  11. I think it depends what Lawrie was upset about. If he was upset he didn't get the rbi, then he should be benched multiple games. I don't think that's the case though, I think he was so focused on trying to get the team one run closer that he was upset when it didn't happen on a play he thought it should have. Just a case of forgetting the situation, rather than a case of being selfish imo.
  12. From Rotoinfo (I think): "Updated: Wilken Ramirez was not happy about being placed on the 7-day disabled list. Said he was asked to recite months backward but said he doesn't know them." Maybe this is a case where the concussion can't do any damage? (Yeah, I'm sure there's more to this, just found it funny)
  13. EE is going to seriously hurt someone one of these times.
  14. Best one yet by far (imo)!
  15. It seemed like Gibbons didn't have time to get enough words out to say anything about the balls/strikes.
  16. I have to admit, I'm starting to lean more that way too. If the only thing the ump was shouting at him was about calling a violation on the equipment, then he probably deserved it. If he was barking about something else, then no. No way should Gibbons have been tossed so fast though.
  17. As I said, the ump was barking at Lawrie as he walked up the 3rd baseline (with his mouth shut), and then was tossed when he lobbed his gloves back towards the plate in response to whatever the ump said. Bad choice by Lawrie, but there's a few umps in the league that need to learn that the game is about the players, not them.
  18. That last replay showed it a little better. Ump started barking at Lawrie as he walked away towards third, and Lawrie tossed the gloves behind his back towards the ump, which is when he was tossed. Lawrie shouldn't have done that, but umps need to be way less confrontational.
  19. Then he tosses Gibbons before he could say more than 2 words. MLB seriously needs to do something about the umps.
  20. Maybe this is just one of those days where whoever is out there is gonna give them up... O's are hitting everything.
  21. The O's started someone yesterday who had 46 innings at double A. I think Cingrani only had about 90. Fernandez only had about 55 innings in advanced A before the Marlins brought him up (they've done the same with some hitters too). I agree with others that we should have just started Ortiz, but let's not pretend that moving guys up fast is only done by us.
