  1. I wonder what we're going to do tomorrow now? The pen is pretty gassed, but not a lot left to bring up. Virtually nothing available for callup if someone needs to eat innings. McGowan or Carreno could be shorter duration options. Nolin I believe can't come up yet (I have to think that's the backup plan if Morrow can't go Sunday anyhow, in which case I assume he'd be dl'd to allow it).
  2. This is going to mess up the Yahoo fantasy stats tomorrow, isn't it
  3. I wonder if the Rays would trade Zobrist? He has a 7M and 7.5M team option the next two years, which might be a bit pricey for them (especially with Price and Longoria getting raises). If they're one of the teams that were drooling over Boni in the off-season (and apparently there were a few that really liked him), perhaps there'd be some kind of fit.
  4. Miggy is absolutely on fire! Another home run in the first inning.
  5. I have no doubt in Lawrie's ability to find solid objects to run into no matter where he plays I'm not necessarily opposed to the move, but I don't think now is the time for it unless Bautista moves to 3rd (which he won't with a sore back or he'd be there tonight rather than EE).
  6. It would be Glorious if he's available AND WE TAKE HIM. In fairness though, I think Law did state that he also has a high chance of being a AAAA player as well (or something to that effect). I'd still love for us to take the chance.
  7. I'm not convinced d'Arnaud is. In fact it wouldn't surprise me at all if Gose puts up significantly more value when everything is said and done. I wasn't too pleased about losing Syndergaard.
  8. I didn't want to start a new thread about this, but is everyone ready to see EE start at third tonight?
  9. It's now reported that he's staying with the Yankees minor league team. There were 6 teams interested, but none were willing to give him a big league roster spot yet.
  10. Bautista himself said he hurt his back on a swing (or was it slide?), but not as a result of playing third. He's clearly still feeling it though (looked really sore today after sliding into third), so THAT might keep him from playing there right now.
  11. Yankees getting desperate. They're recalling Youk and Teixeira for the Red Sox series after each have had only 2 rehab games.
  12. Speaking of the Cards, with Mujica unavailable (pitched 4 days in a row), they cough up the lead in the 9th. Now 4-2 KC and a rain delay.
  13. He was also hitting .227 with 5 walks to 34 k's before today's game.
  14. I'm not willing to rant about R.A. based on 2 months in which he's playing through an injury.
  15. Gattis smoked it to lead the inning off, but McCann took advantage of no one on the left side (which I hate), and Pena's hit should probably have been snared by both EE and Boni, and neither came up with it. 3 runs is still 3 runs though.
  16. I hate that full blown shift. Put 3 over on one side, but leave the shortstop in position so hitters aren't tempted to do with McCann just did.
  17. Maybe we need to stop doubting Gibbons crazy lineups... Oh, and Dickey should be pinch hitting for the next week as an extra bench guy
  18. Ideally might be Bautista to third, and either Lind or EE to LF. I'm assuming that since we haven't been doing that Bautista's back is too sore to do it outside of an emergency.
  19. Pretty sure Thole has a major league contract, so we're paying him the same either way (someone may wish to correct me on that). Completely agree that we need to get him up here.
  20. Not to pick on this post in particular, but for everyone hating on Dickey, did you know that he's tied for 11th in the AL in quality starts this year? That's the same number as guys like Verlander, Moore, Darvish, etc. Now I'm not saying he's been great, because he hasn't, but it's something to chew on.
  21. Dickey swinging the bat with a bad back scares me a little. Maybe we'll get lucky and Blanco will get on so he can bunt.
