  1. So the baseball gods want THIS kind of game tonight.
  2. Looks like we definitely want to be looking opposite field.
  3. Technically you said to state if the Braves would hit the first home run or not (which they didn't since no one did), but I don't think that's what the intent was. I have no issue with no one losing points on it. Those kind of bonus days would probably be better to do on days when the pitching matchup is a little more even, regardless of how things turned out yesterday.
  4. I believe it was a hip injury, so unless it's something likely to be chronic it shouldn't be too concerning. I'd probably be more worried if it was an arm.
  5. Every time we crap on the lineup they seem to come up with a big game. This lineup should get a total blowout if that trend continues.
  6. Yeah, players have to give consent if it's before June 15th and they signed a free agent contract. I don't think MLB or the MLBPA would look on it too fondly unless Izzy really wanted out, so I'd be hesitant to potentially damage us further as a free agent landing spot for the sake of 2 weeks of Fransisco and no Izzy.
  7. Yeah, you're right. So much for under slot, but it still could be worth punting the pick to next year if no one decent is available.
  8. I'm okay with McGuire if Frazier and Meadows are both gone (unless something really good falls). I'd be okay with taking a shot on Manaea as well, especially if he'd sign below slot.
  9. Izzy can't be traded until June 15th, barring a small loophole that the Jays may not wish to push.
  10. It's really a good question. I guess overall it depends on our offense, which is humming along pretty good right now. In reality, we're probably talking about (essentially) throwing away 2 net ab's, albeit probably higher leverage ones. Is that worth more or less than a stronger pen? I don't know.
  11. It's possible the Jays may just go with a short bench and let the pitchers hit rather than subbing players in. For all we know, there may be other guys in the overworked pen who are sore aside from just Janssen.
  12. Well, Law now has the Jays taking JP Crawford... I think there'd be just a little bit of raging going on here if that happens.
  13. I'm worried about that too. 5 should be fairly easy, but the remaining two are going to suck.
  14. What other extensions / etc are you using? I wonder if one of them is messing with it.
  15. He snowconed the ball. He was within about an inch of being normal.
  16. Don't like to see anyone hurt, but this could be a HUGE break for us.
  17. I'm positive I saw him in the pregame lineup. I'd say there's an excellent chance he's coming up based on that.
  18. Delabar's only real issue has been the April walks (he was able to get away with a lot of them), which are the main reason for the inflated xFIP and seem to have been corrected in May (so far). Oliver has out-performed his xFIP for the last 7 or 8 years (many years by a wide margin), so it seems a little unfair to use it to say that he's been bad this year (and a good portion of that was from the first 3 games of the season as well). I'd consider both to have been decent. Agree fully on Rogers and Lincoln. Overall I think the pen has performed well outside of the emergency guys.
  19. Hmmm, I was wrong, McGowan threw 2 innings yesterday not today. I suppose he might be a possibility IF he's eligible. Stilson makes no sense atm, although I'd love to see him. It would be Stroman's day to start tomorrow I believe, so he would be a reasonable fit. We might also get 1 pitcher and 1 hitter, since we will be playing 2 NL games and could use an extra guy on the bench. Thole isn't in the lineup tonight after also missing last night, so perhaps he'd be a possibility (or hurt).
  20. This move only opens up one spot on the 40 man, so at least one of the moves (agreed it has to be pitchers) has to be on the 40 man unless more is to come. That means one of the pitchers would pretty much have to be Storey, Redmond, or Schwimer (McGowan went 2 innings today, so it's unlikely he'd get the call for tomorrow). The second could be anyone, possibly including (and I'm not saying this is a good thing) Derek Lowe off waivers. It could also be Stroman?
  21. I agree we should be running more, but Gose was very clearly uncomfortable getting a lead over there. Running stupid was what we did last year, which is what that would have been there.
  22. Correct, notgraphs produces these articles as jokes (albeit very well done ones). Honestly though, the idea of a base stealing / sliding coach has some appeal.
