  1. EE barely got that one out, and that was crushed.
  2. Our only other option was probably Nolin, at least without further screwing over the 40 man.
  3. Melky looks like he's running a little better tonight.
  4. That had so much air under it I though Rasmus had a chance on it. I think he thought it was gone.
  5. Only good things can happen here. We either get the pitcher's spot out of the way or get in a run.
  6. Rasmus for Gyorko please!
  7. At least he went down looking
  8. Love the passion Ortiz plays with. Obviously still rather see Morrow though.
  9. Wow, I thought EE had that for sure.
  10. The entire year so far wasn't. Let's face it, the game wouldn't be much fun if reality always matched paper. Still, lots of time in the year to go. JJ should be hopefully a shot in the arm.
  11. Buchholz still going to his hair before every pitch, but at least he seems to have abandoned the arm.
  12. And I forgot Ellsbury also was
  13. Looks like quite a few middle end starters on the FA list next year too, although a little light on higher end (Halladay if he returns to normal, Johnson, Kuroda): Garza, possibly Floyd or Hammel, Haren, Hudson, Hughes, possibly Lincecum (his xfip is still pretty good), Marcum, Nolasco, Oswalt, Ervin Santana
  14. I really like the idea of McCann. If JPA wasn't moved, he could be used as the backup catcher and part time dh and still probably get 100+ games in the starting lineup. I dislike the idea of trading many of the names on that list, but for Kinsler / Profar level talent it would be worth it. I also think this would be a really good time to offer JJ a smaller term extension (2 years). It would give him a chance to regain value and still put himself in line for a big contract, and we'd get to keep him during this competitive window. Other guys who could be interesting are Ruiz (who should come cheaper than McCann), possibly Ellsbury or Granderson depending on the cost, Choo if he drops Boris.
  15. I believe you lose one position on the pick, so we would stay at 10 (assuming no one else below us also fails to sign the players).
  16. I don't know. I assumed they could be, since that would presumably give the teams needing the extra talent the best return.
  17. This year's draft should be interesting. Those competitive balance picks (which can be traded once) could make things very interesting if a player drops out of the first round.
  18. What the heck is that stance!
  19. BTW, I think we should permanently add a no home run option as well
  20. ahhhh. I don't see any reason to do that. Perhaps we could split the contest up into two, one pre and one post all-star break though.
  21. I think the playoffs should remain open to everyone, since the contest is. Something like pick one person from each playoff game (either team, and excluding wildcard games). No bonuses.
