  1. Just make a GDT for all the games each day. Ignore the lineups and extra info, and just include some general stuff (pitching matchups and anything else interesting)
  2. I think there's a good chance we'll see what we expected to see when this year began. Something in the 87 to 93 win area. Hopefully that gets us a playoff spot.
  3. Rosario is probably at least a year away. You never know, but I think Dozier would be far far more unavailable than Ackley. Speaking of the Mariners, I'd love to pry Saunders away from them for cheap (Michael)
  4. I don't think Dozier is a realistic option (in that I don't think he's available). Lombardozzi perhaps could be added, Ackley, maybe Wong. The problem is, I honestly don't see most of those guys as much of an upgrade over Goins / Kawasaki / Izzy, and we'd be risking them being unable to play on the turf. Cano, Peralta, Infante, Kendrick, Ackley (and the unavailable Dozier) I think are the only guys I might be tempted on, and Cano isn't going to happen. Ackley and Kendrick may or may not be available, etc.
  5. I'd have to think Santana will be qualified also.
  6. Agreed, thanks for doing this and getting us away from a million dogg aliases (plus better board features).
  7. From what I remember, the few decent relievers that did change hands did so for next to nothing in return.
  8. 3 best players? We're basically doing it without ALL our players except Lawrie and Reyes.
  9. Yeah, I don't agree with some of the WAR valuations people place around here (I think they're waaaay too high). I see Choo as a 3 war player right now, and consider that to be worth around 15M (5M / WAR). On top of that, I don't think he's going to age well, and would be shocked if he averages more than 2 - 2.5 WAR over his contract term.
  10. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with Choo at over 15M anyway, and I feel we have bigger needs in the off-season anyhow, so I think I consider that good news.
  11. They said that the season end press conference is on tomorrow morning at 11:30 est also
  12. There's zero reason to do this. We still have to pay Romero his full salary (minus the major league minimum) if we release him, so we may as well just outright him to the minors and let him try to right himself.
  13. If there's no break (or only 1 day) in between the end of the season and the wildcard games, teams can't really line their starting staff up anyway. Every day leading up to the playoff is the most important game of the season for them, it's not like they can delay a guy for a game or two to line things up or they might get eliminated before the wildcard game occurs. That's one of the big advantages for the division winner, they have a few days where they CAN line up the pitching.
  14. Me too. No matter what happens, I'll be both happy and sad at the same time.
  15. The best at his position ever is exactly why he should be in there. Who cares whether his position is considered as important or not? Edgar should probably be in too, and what about Papi if he plays another 2 years and reaches 500 home runs?
  16. Lawrie is a gamer. Good thing his shoulder got a piece of that before his mouth did.
  17. Lawrie came close to making that play. Would have been an incredible one.
  18. We aren't off to a good start in that regard. At least the Mets and Brewers are playing each other, so one of the two of them have to win.
  19. Longoria with the picture perfect display of how NOT to play 3rd base. (yes, I know he's one of the best in the business)
  20. That 93mph breaking ball to Gose was just unfair. No chance
  21. This ended up being rather unfortunately prophetic.
  22. Based on age, I think he should take a bit of a step forward from 2012 (as I said, I think this year he was mostly hurt early on with being rushed through his rehab period), and his second half numbers are a bit of a step forward from 2012 also. Somewhere in the 95 to 100 wRC+ seems right for a floor, and probably 115 or so as the ceiling.
  23. I would expect Lawrie's 2012 to be the floor. Hopefully he can take a step forward from that though. I think this year he was really hurt by being rushed back from injury with almost no rehab period.
