  1. 94mph and 95mph from Cecil. Love seeing that, even if he overthrew it.
  2. Papi bunting for a base hit ... there's a phrase you don't expect to see.
  3. Soriano continuing his big game. 2 home runs, a double, and 7 rbi.
  4. Yeah, that's the one down side to him. Our other guys probably don't come up with the ball in the first place though.
  5. That IS a good question, but I don't feel like doing the research right now (maybe someone else will?). I would think everyone medium-high would be better as pressure would be constantly exerted on the pitcher the entire game.
  6. They lead baseball in runs scored and are 2nd in the AL in OPS. They have a whole glut of players just a hair under .800.
  7. Soriano just cleared the bases with a big fly. Rough start for Weaver.
  8. We need a no home runs option for days like today. I guess I'll take Bautista though.
  9. I voted yes, but it's more 50/50 for me if it's for cash. If the PTBNL is anything of use, then it's a big yes.
  10. Boni may not be useful for us right now, but his speed could win KC a playoff game or critical games down the stretch coming in late as a pinch runner.
  11. Probably. Wade Davis would make some sense though, since he's been pretty bad as a starter for them and will get 4.8M next year. Still has good upside, but KC probably doesn't want him in the pen at 4.8M.
  12. More interesting in this is trying to guess who the ptbnl will be (we should actually have a contest for that). It's really hard to gauge Boni's value right now, but he didn't make it too far up the waiver ladder. You have to wonder if someone yet to clear waivers might be a primary target (like Wade Davis since Ventura is probably ready), or someone who's stock seems to have fallen like Christian Colon (although I assume they wouldn't make it ptbnl if that was the case). Fun note: This trade gives the Royals two Bonifacios...
  13. Not Buehrle. Happ just pumps almost nothing but fastballs in there. He doesn't have one dominating enough to do that.
  14. Nice hit, but it seems like EE should have made it to 2nd.
  15. Not to mention a key injury in the next 3 weeks could make a team really desperate for someone who has already passed through. Perhaps that would get us a "b" prospect where at the deadline there was likely nothing.
  16. Would you want to give 100% effort in your job if your employer said he was looking for someone to replace you? There's a difference between babying people and treating people with respect. It also, as I said, gives the club a chance to gauge other team's interest in the players with no repercussions.
  17. It makes sense. If you put everyone on waivers, no one's feelings are hurt. It also gives the club a chance to gauge other team's interest in various players.
  18. Baseball-reference has them http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=oliveda02&year=2013&t=p#dr
  19. Maybe they've identified something else they wanted to work on with JJ. Combined with the off day, they could give him 2 throw sessions this way.
