  1. Sierra raising his trade value a bit here in September.
  2. Sent mine in a PM
  3. I'm not sure either really did. Maybe EE, but Jeter could have easily gone in around baseball. Not that it really matters.
  4. I would think more in the 25M range, but hard to say for sure
  5. Well, prior to this year that player was basically Izzy, and really he probably is due to bounce back towards those numbers. Let's face it, we'd be listing him as a target if we didn't have him this year. If Goins can put up an 80 wRC+ his defense probably makes him close to 2 WAR. I'm not sure there's a need to bring in someone else unless they are a clear upgrade over Izzy (prior to this year), with Goins as the sort of wildcard. We have to use whatever resources we have in the most efficient way possible. If that means we improve the team more by addressing pitching and catcher, and not not having enough left to bring in an obvious upgrade at 2nd, so be it. If it does mean addressing 2nd, then that's preferable.
  6. I'm not sure how much I want Kendrick, unless we address catcher and pitching first and have money left over. Otherwise, I think I'd rather try and nab someone like Ackley or Infante.
  7. We're up to 14!
  8. I don't remember if someone posted it here or it was on mlbtraderumors, but I think they said that while Tanaka has had success, he doesn't have Darvish's overpowering fastball and would more likely be a mid rotation guy. Still, if the posting cost isn't too high ...
  9. Jeffress is filthy when he's on. Upper 90's sinking fastball with horizontal movement. Too bad he's not on more often.
  10. Always funny when the home fans boo their own pitcher for an intentional walk (although in fairness Jays fans might outnumber the Twins fans at the park).
  11. Tank nation or not, it's kind of nice to see someone else's pitchers put them in a big early hole.
  12. They need to pair Morris up with a sabermetric guy. The contrast between the two should appeal to people on both ends
  13. Maybe we should get a mod to move this to the main forum for a few days
  14. I'm definitely game
  15. Quite an amusing article from Elliott for anyone that didn't see it http://www.torontosun.com/2013/09/05/bob-elliott-flies-high-with-blue-jays-gm-alex-anthopoulos-his-son
  16. Buffalo is going to have one hell of a rotation next year. Good thing too, because they may not have any serviceable bats.
  17. Casey is all over the place this inning. Unusual to see him like this.
  18. Not a good throw there by Gose, but the runner didn't challenge him
  19. I really dislike the high camera angle they're using. It makes it hard to see the movement of the knuckleball.
  20. Impressive by Gose. That was a routine single for almost anyone else.
  21. I don't think we can afford both Choo and McCann. That would be one hell of an offense though.
  22. Nice throw there by Sierra (although maybe slightly high, it got there so fast the cutoff didn't matter)
  23. It looks like the Cards are thinking about taking Lance Lynn out of the rotation (he's had a rough second half of the season). He might be an interesting target in the off-season (clearly not as an ace mind you).
  24. In the early 90's we didn't have the same advanced metrics we do today (or at least regular people didn't really have access to them). Sluggers were primarily defined by home runs and rbi, and Carter basically average 30 home runs and 100 rbi while he was a Blue Jay. Today I would certainly rank quite a few people on that poll ahead of him, but I don't fault people who aren't knowledgeable in advanced statistics for voting the way they did. I know growing up he was one of my favorite players.
