  1. For sure, although it'll be interesting to see if things change when we find out who the prospects are.
  2. Dunno, he just acquired a player to fill ... where exactly is he playing in the field? I'd say that fits the Jack Z profile more than Amaro.
  3. He could be forced to reach into the runner to get a throw and hurt his arm, or get his foot stomped on (etc). I don't think in general any position should be an extra injury concern except pitcher and catcher.
  4. He makes bad decisions at times, but that incredible first step and ability to hit top speed almost immediately make up for it. There's guys in the league faster, but I don't think we've seen the explosiveness Davis has since Henderson.
  5. Man, that was a beautiful play by Stroman at 1st.
  6. I would absolutely take Masterson if he came with an extension. The likely price might be a little painful if he doesn't though.
  7. Can we beat both of their heads together until one side gets some sense knocked into them?
  8. It was mentioned several times. Basically, as of right now Goins is the everyday 2nd baseman and Izzy is in the utility role, but that could change if Alex is able to upgrade it this winter.
  9. Bird flu must be a national crisis up there. Nothing like literally crippling communications with a virus.
  10. Heck, he could lead the pups on his workouts. A retired Doc would probably still make them cry mercy.
  11. They should have waited until the season tickets went on sale. Between the time people heard we signed Doc until the time they got to the part about him retiring they probably could have put an addition thousand butts in the seats.
  12. Considering the injuries we've had the last 2 years, improving the bench might add more value than anywhere else J/k, but in all fairness, he can't force something that the market isn't ready for. If he can't get the SP or 2b yet, then he should absolutely get what he can (as long as it doesn't impact the other later).
  13. Interesting! And (depending on the return of course), good to see Alex looking to move a reliever.
  14. Maybe both their prices get jacked up, Mariners get both, and we somehow manage to nab Iwakuma and Franklin out of it. Yeah, probably not, but it's nice to dream.
  15. Not really, but it is more relevant than a thread created about David Cooper imo...
  16. Apparently other teams aren't the only ones asking for a ton for their players! That trade would be all kinds of win though.
  17. We need to let Jack Z keep his nuts and first born. Maybe they'll breed more really dumb GM's for us to exploit!
  18. Well, he let one go. Gotta maintain the quota!
  19. I think everyone was told at the time that Cooper's injuries would end his career.
  20. Neither is obviously ideal, but Choo strikes me as a complete disaster waiting to happen - possibly worse than the A-Rod / Pujols / Hamilton / Fielder deals when all is said and done. Jimenez I think is under-rated (but won't be underpaid).
  21. I don't know how anyone else feels, but I suspect Choo is going to get paid a LOT more for a LOT longer than any team should be comfortable giving him. I'd much rather give 16-17M / year for 5 years to Jimenez than 20+M / year for 7 years to Choo.
  22. I can't believe he's apparently getting a major league deal.
