  1. I drink two diet drinks a day. Used to hate the taste of diet drinks, but now I don't care for the taste of non-diet drinks. Sure it's bad for you, but it's delicous. I eat healthy other than that and exercise. Plus I don't drink coffee so it's my caffeine. I was drinking an energy drink every morning for the first six months of last year too, but dropped that. Still have a couple a week though.
  2. Yes, I understand how the draft works, thanks though!
  3. Man, imagine Bryant would have signed here.
  4. Fair enough, but McGwires numbers were still certainly better. Less RBI though, and that was probably the factor. Ignore the fact it was a team full of all stars on base all the time for him lol.
  5. Man baseball was weird back then. I remember my dad loving Carter. And you look at his career numbers. Pretty crazy. He was third in MVP voting in 1992. .264/.309/.498 34HR McGwire was fourth .268/.385/.585 42HR Or Frank Thomas was either: .323/.439/.536 24HR
  6. Bluejays FO, spend enough to almost be a contender, then just stop and go with whatever you have. Then wonder why the f*** you're not in the playoffs.
  7. That's insane. Ever try and throw a ball like that? I couldn't imagine throwing 20mph like that. I would love to step in the batters box to see what it's like coming at you.
  8. f***
  9. Thanks. Let me know if it happens again. It's a sneaky thing and a pain in the ass.
  10. Can you see if you can get it to do it again? I disabled the chatbox thinking that might be the issue. I can't seem to get the problem to happen to me even when I clear cookies.
  11. Working on it. Happened with another forum of mine, it's a pain. Vbulletin who created the forum software never wants to admit it's their problem.
  12. Basically we traded a s*** ton of prospects for free agent contracts, backloaded free agent contracts. We could have signed those guys the previous year for just their contracts and not give a s*** ton of prospects. Didn't turn out absolutely terrible, but money could have spent a lot better and saved our farm or made better moves. Trades like Donaldson trades are smart moves. Or Mat Latos a few years ago. It was like he got the go ahead to spend money and had to blow it as fast as he could. Dickey has been decent, but wasn't worth two top prospects given his age and limited success. Most people here thought we were going to get him for JPA+, not two top prospects. If you're giving two top prospects up it should be for a controllable ace or #2. Reyes was decent, and is a great player, but he's getting paid $22M per year the next three years. Today, with contracts on the rise it doesnt look as bad, but his speed is going to decline, and we've witnessed his defense and injuries. But hey, Dickey could have had a 2.50ERA same with Johnson, and we could have won the world series and all would have been forgotten. But we gave ourselves a very limited window for that to happen. Luckily we kill the drafts and still have a good farm.
  13. My guess is somewhere around there. But I have no idea.
  14. I'm sure he was rushed. But yeah even before the elbow that previous year wasn't very impressive either. I think they did get high hopes for him and tried to rush him. Think he was 17 his rookie year.
  15. Zobrist would make this lineup amazing. Trade and extend him three years.
  16. Imagine if we didn't do the awful Florida and Mets trades.
  17. Man I was high on Cardona his rookie year, he's gotten worse each year since.
  18. My pleasure. Haven't been around nearly as much over the last year, nor did I catch a lot of games. Mods did a great job looking after the place. But I'm pretty excited for this year. I'm going to try and come to Toronto for a couple games if I can make it work.
  19. Me too, this is a massive deal. I can't believe the average fan doesn't understand the significance of this deal and some are actually mad. Essentially we acquired another Jose Bautista, if fans could understand that, they would be amazed.
  20. From mods and admin, Happy Holidays. Thanks for supporting the forum through donations and helping grow the board. We quickly turned this forum into the top Blue Jays forum in the world. We're #1 in Google for Blue Jays forum and Blue Jays message board. The old forum is a graveyard apart from a couple trolls posting every couple of days. I think this is going to be an exciting years for the Jays. I was never a fan of the Dickey/Fl trades and wasn't excited going into that season, but this offseason I was impressed. I think we are going to be very competitive this year, and confident AA will make future moves going into the playoffs. This is going to be the most exciting year in a long time. Happpy Holidays
  21. f*** Miley. You guys are definitely over hyping him.
  22. Yes. But not as a player.
  23. I've played football on a couple different turfs, and I'm sure Rogers Centre has about the best you can buy. But I just don't see how this issue keeps coming up. Sure the old turf were it was basically green carpet on cement, but I don't see how they complain about it with today's technology, it's almost identical to grass. I don't watch a lot of football, but I'm sure there are atleast a few stadiums that use turf, and I don't think I've ever heard of it being an issue in football... and running in football is a lot harder on the knees/body than baseball.
