  1. Jays need a couple big moves to be a contender. Couple bandaid moves won't do it. I don't understand how you go 3/4 the way in, and say 'okay that's about as far as we go.' Go all in, or blow it up, what's the point on being a borderline contender. Kawasaki playing decent as of late worries me that AA doesn't make a move for 2B. If he can keep playing like that, great, but it's still a question mark. Second half of last year he hit .274/.348 and so far this year .286/.348. If he can do that for us the whole year and play slightly above average defense, that would be fantastic.
  2. No Tanaka Yanks are screwed. That was a guarantee win one in five games. Split those other four games and they're one of the best teams in baseball.
  3. Yeah someone should have been telling him down. But he shouldn't have been jogging. I want to know what was going through his head.
  4. You mean the feeling we are supposed to have with Dickey?
  5. Let's hope this is the start of good second half Dickey.
  6. Of the guys left unsigned, any of them big talents? And any possible chance to grab them still?
  7. That's how AA likes to make his moves! And I doubt we'd have had to give more, he probably would have come for less. Contender vs rebuild + his DR buddies. Colon for Dickey!
  8. I'd buy low on Headley. I think he just needs a change of scenery and gtfo out of SD already.
  9. Gonna be a good test for Stroman. Can he be consistently good?
  10. Pretty good. As for content, there's a s*** load in MLB videos section, probably 5+ clips for every single game.
  11. Happ's too inconsistent for me. He's one extreme or the other. It's one extreme or the other. Five of 12 starts he's given up one or less runs. Five of 12 starts he's given up four or more runs. I've unlocked the code! Every second start is bad, and every other in between is good! Earned runs in his 12 starts, from most recent: 4 0 7 1 3 3 6 0 4 1 4 0 28ER vs 5ER Pitch him every ten days!
  12. Holy s*** Synd has been terrible. Wasn't there some injury issue? I thought I read a month or two back he might need TJS?
  13. Warning for making me click BR link.
  14. Holy crap knew Hutch's numbers on the road were better, didn't know that much of a difference.
  15. If we went to the playoffs today, and had to pick three starters, who are they and what order do you put them in? Buehrle is pitching over his head, but I think he has to get the ball. Then I think I'd go with Stroman (I'd really wait to see how he finishes the year, but that goes against my question) Then I'd go with Dickey I guess. But I'd hope it's a pitcher we pick up.
  16. Not a bad idea imo, good buy low candidate. Has been someone AA has always liked I believe as well. Though I'd like to see a bigger move made.
  17. Any of the guys we won't sign have the potential to be high first rounders in the future, like we've seen before?
  18. This was long time ago. IT was more so somewhere to go after the bars closed, I think it stayed open another hour. But most strippers are s*****, some are smoking hot though. But yeah, I've only gone to one probably 3-4 times in my life, it's not that great. Some people love it though.
  19. Years ago I was in Minni with a few friends. We went to a few clubs then ended up at a strip club at like 2AM, same one for all I know. Think it was pretty much shutting down but people just kinda hanging out. My one buddy is a big dude (pic attached) and this stripper was all over him. Took his shirt off, was dancing all over him, etc. My buddy just sat there and let her. 20 minutes later she gets off him and says, "That'll be $20." And my buddy was like "What?! Are you f***ing kidding me?! Look at me, you should be paying me." Bouncers got involved and was a big deal, but then my buddy just ended up paying the $20. But was ********. Was just hilarious that she was all over him, he couldn't have cared less, and she pulled that s***.
  20. I could eat innings if they put me in there, but it wouldn't be a very smart move. What's the point of saying someone is an innings eater when they are terrible in later innings and shouldn't be on the mound.
  21. His past years haven't been as extreme as this. Sure a lot of pitchers' numbers will go up as the game goes on, but his are quite substantial.
  22. If Dickey was taken out every game after four innings, he'd have a 2.65ERA. If he was taken out after five innings, he would have a 3.71ERA.
  23. Agree. I'm tired of the "he's pitching okay" or "You guys are expecting too much from him" or "He's pitching like a #3 or #4". That would be great if we didn't trade for him valuing him as an ace. Only good thing is we didn't extend him at a price of an ace. The only 'luck' Dickey has had, is when his bullpen bailed him out on more than one occassion. His ERA could easily be mid to high 4s right now.
  24. You won't get banned I'm a big boy. I didn't say he gives up more home runs. I too can look up a stat that says he doesn't. I said if a knuckleball doesn't move, it's a lot easier to hit hard then if a fastball misses it's spot. I don't know if it's fatigue or just seeing him a few times per game (which doesn't make sense considering how well he did in NY), but I don't believe it's 'luck' a guy is dominant for four innings and all the sudden gives up four homeruns. You don't go from under .700OPS 1st and 2nd time through the line up to .946OPS because of bad luck. These numbers will be skewed even more when updated after today's game.
  25. I disagree. A knuckle ball that doesn't move is the same thing they pitch in the home run derby. It can be inside, outside, or over the plate. A 90mph+ fastball that misses is still hard to it. Right down the middle is easier, but it can still be hard to hit because of adjusting from a fastball to off speed pitch. With Dickey you know the speed. So if doesn't move, you tee up and crush it... evidence supports that.
