Synd 2.70ERA. God is that depressing as a Jays fan. On pace for 5WAR over course of a full season. That would be more than Dickey put together in three seasons as a Jay.

So many pitchers available we should be able to acquire someone without giving up the farm. -
I may have heard of the guy and know about him. He's also 31 this year. I didn't like the Marlins trade and didn't like the Dickey trade, and everyone wanted to argue against my opinion on those trades too. Like I said I love Tulo and it's a great upgrade, I was just saying Colorado made out really good here, it was a good move by them. I think we both win the trade but Colorado made out really well.

He may not be a $20M/year player but he's still a very good player. Someone will be interested especially coming down the deadline. Dodgers could use a SS.

I don't think it was a burn really. They removed a pitcher and they want to know who's replacing him.

I don't hate the deal, but this is a win for Colorado. They get rid of Tulo who'll start to decline in a year or two and replace him with Reyes. Reyes may not be on Tulo's level but he's still a very good player, and they aren't committed to him for five more years. On top of that they get two great prospects, one who would have been a top five pick before TJ. Now if they flip Reyes for a couple more pieces, they're essentially have a huge haul for Tulo.

Seriously. Ten f***ing minutes once a month should be enough to be an adequate bunter. I would have made him stay after the game and talk batting practice for half an hour practicing bunting. Then release him.

If you're a .200 hitter and can't even get a bunt down, you shouldn't be in the Majors.

Jays need a couple moves. If they go all in for a SP, they need to make atleast one more move. Time for Colabello to gtfo.

Just saw the delivery for the first time. That is insane. The way he hides the ball as well makes it even crazier.

Fair argument. But coming off a great season or not Dickey was like 39 (I think) at the time. And we were talking about two great prospects. I think there were better trades that either could have been made a year earlier, or later if he sat and waited. I think AA got the go ahead to build a winner and he JP'd it. Remember when JP got some money, he went and blew it as fast as he could on whoever he could. I think AA did the same thing. He has made some great moves, I give him credit, and he has done a great job drafting as well, for the most part. I think assistant GM might be a better role though. He has some great ideas, but seems like he needs someone to 'overlook' these decisions.

Synd drops his ERA to 3.11 with 11k in 8IP. That trade is going to hurt for years to come, and that's without TDA. Embarrassing.

Still gonna pat myself on the back when I suggested we trade for Arrieta when he had a 7ERA and was sent down to the minors.

Well at the time people were in love with Dickey, comparable to Hamels.
