was just curious, whatever happened to Hoglund?

He was traded to Oakland in the Chapman deal, was pretty meh in the minors until the last few years and got to the majors last year. He proceeded to suck in his short 6-start look, then a parade of injuries and hip surgery kept him out all of this season

Embarrassing effort by the Chisox tonight.

21 strikeouts. With the 3 hits, that makes it only 9 balls put in play the entire game? Atrocious.

I love seeing Gavin Williams going beast mode tonight.  That'll leave a last imprint with Guardians fans.

After coming in to close Game 4?  Incredible stuff.

Would Game 4 have been Williams' throw day?  Did the Guardians copy the Marlins approach?

I wonder if we see more of that next season by some teams. Interesting.

Yeah, they mentioned it after game 4 at the presser.

Lucky hit for the first RBI

Yeah. But they're grinding Miz down. He's going to have a hard time going 5 at this rate

Almost seems to me like they have a tip on him or something? They are having no problems with the fastball and just spitting on the slider pretty much

The playoff wRC+ for the 4 teams remaining: 95, 93, 79, 65 (MIL, CLE, LAD, and TAM in that order). The Jays had a 128 wRC+ in last season’s playoffs (sad face).

This hasn’t been a fun playoffs to watch so far from an offensive standpoint.

Yeah, that balk call is tough

Did they call it a ball because he didn't break his hands when he stepped off?  That's my only guess as to why that's a balk?

He twitched - ever so slightly (no idea how the ump saw that) - right before he disengaged from the rubber.  Not a balk IMO.  Hands can be anywhere as long as he disengages -

It’s the front knee breaking first before he steps off. It’s so subtle that it’s hard to see at first glance but if you watch for it it’s obvious

Definitely a balk by definition
