Hey, a third baseman playing in a bit on a speedy hitter

Yeah.  Probably helps that they prepped with the exit velocities and planned the positioning knowing that Clemente isn't hitting it 110 either.

Clement actually hits the ball hard for his size.

It's hard to hit well when you don't play often. BV did show consistencie with the bat when he was playing more.

This is true. They seem to do that with DS and now keys as well. Bench while they’re hot hitting

You know there are ways to measure that these days?  It could really help reduce the number of ignorant things you say.  Average EV is 2nd percentile.

Just think - you probably spend decades of your life saying things that people had no way of fact checking.  They probably just assumed you knew what you're talking about.  I bet that felt awesome.  Unfortunately (for you), those days are over.

Why is Varland pitching the 8th inning of a game they are down 2-0?

I know JS gets off on using as many pitchers as possible, but what's the point of this?

Off day tomorrow...get his confidence back after a bad outing?  That's all I got.

JS has now started looking at where they are at in the opponents batting order and deploys his arms to maximize the chances of victory. No more rigid use of the bullpen.  He is now a dynamic manager with other worldly baseball instincts.

He's right.

Clement has 2nd percentile exit velocity.  McNeil has 13th percentile exit velocity.  So your point the other night, was interesting.  Maybe they should have been in a step or two against McNeil.   Like they play Clement in a bit.

But against Henry Bolte it's tough.  He has 90th percentile exit velocity and 100th percentile speed.  If you play in your going to be dealing some hit balls.  Not sure what the right move is there.

Anyway point is that you can look this stuff up.  Clement doesn't hit the ball hard at all even considering his size.

Ends with a patented Clement first pitch pop up. Cease losing really hurt, but looks like the offense is back to being its pathetic self. Hope the Guardians put us out of our misery and go on a tear.

Nothing wrong with giving him 3 days off considering how hard he's been worked.  INSANE.  Stupid to use Lorenzen to and not Fluharty.

Clement doesnt even pass the eye test.  He swings a pool noodle. Quintessential Punch and Judy hitter.

Best for everybody.   Cease is hanging on by a thread.  Varland is gassed.  Vlad needs to be shutdown.  Just end this stupid playoff run.  Get a look at Keys.

Varland pitched Monday, so giving him 2 days off followed by an off day seems very reasonable given how much he's pitched this season. I also don't think he's a risk for losing confidence. Maybe JS gets a bonus if at least 4 of his relievers are top 10 in appearances.

I'm just spit balling while watching the game, it's not that serious. Fact checking everything you say in a GDT is a bit extreme. The reactions to something this irrelevant is mind boggling though.

I guess Vlad he isn't "back" after all just because he had one f***ing good game.

This season is not all on him, but we're easily in a playoff spot if this motherf***er is even just bad by his standards.

But no, he had to go and have a total f***ing abortion of a season.

Though the bullpen usage seemed questionable at times, 2 runs allowed through a bullpen game should be enough. Offense were total s***

This is what happens when there is nothing happening on the field of play to get excited about.  We focus on the little things and get really granular.  It is what it is.
