John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Im about as non-optimistic as the next guy that they'll make it but... lets look at the math. 25 games left, gap is 1.5, being 2 wins better than Cleveland over the last 25 and at least 1 win better than Texas and Baltimore is not a gargantuan task. The permutations and possibilities of which team gets in are insane though. Texas and Baltimore are saying the exact same thing about the Jays and each other. Thing is, Cleveland as 1 more game remaining and both Texas and Baltimore have 2 more games to play than they Jays. That's not insignificant. SeranthonySantander 1
SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted yesterday at 12:22 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:22 AM The Indians fans wouldn’t even appreciate that spot if they made in it. 100 years of mockery of the eradication of Native American tribes and they put that racist cartoon on their jersey with pride. i will spit on a Cleveland fan if i ever see one in person what those fans did is on par with 9/11. And even worse than 9/11 now that I think about it, much much worse worse than the holocuast. Ok maybe not that bad, but up there.

Realistically tomorrow's game is must-win for both teams, but moreso for Seattle. Sure would be nice to sweep them at the RC and be the ones that start tapping the nail in their playoff coffin while staying alive at the same time. A decent winning streak or winning 8 of 10 or something like that is exactly what they need.
SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted yesterday at 01:47 AM Author Posted yesterday at 01:47 AM With the Texas rangers loss they have officially bowed out and been eliminated in my mind. only having 1 team ahead of us even though it’s 1.5 games feels better than the 5 way tie even if the orioles win tonight, I would still consider them eliminated. They just don’t have the fight and drive like this team has

It's pretty simple. 4 teams left within 2 games, So back of napkin is 1/4, 25% chance. Jays are a bit behind those, plus another team could go 20-5, so 20%.. Fangraphs has it at 21. bbref at 25%. Jays have slightly better odds then Orioles on fangraphs for some reason. The games remaining may favor the Jays because it gives they will likely have to do bullpen games and push Cease, Soriano a little.
Olerud363.354 Verified Member Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Too bad they didn't still have 40 man September rosters. With Keys, Stanifer, Teideman, an extra catcher, Perry and a few others Jays could have done some crazy stuff. Bullpen games, lead-off Keys at ss in road games then sit him. 3-3 game, put in Straw for defense until he hits, pinch hit Keys, Schneider for defense. Just really seems a team that would have fun to watch with a 40 man. Maybe the same could be said about the other teams. Maybe they still can do some crazy stuff with some roster manipulation.
Laika Community Moderator Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Basically, we just need two of Spaghetti, Taillon, and Scherzer to pitch like Aces from here on The off days in September don't seem to give much opportunity to skip them many times, just given how they line up now Nolan Perry isn't doing well enough in AA to look like a savior Stanifer and Guerra would just be bullpen additions Luis Robert Jr. is an expensive upgrade on Daz Cameron but maybe worth a shot

Perry's numbers are averigish and the stuff doesn't indicate anything extra is there. Scherzer's numbers are the worst we've ever seen but the stuff indicates he is still functional and above Perry. Does the stuff indicate Scherzer is a better choice then Perry? I mean I guess politically would be a hard move to make. Or Petty 3 innings in a bullpen game worth it? Probably not for the roster spot, I can see that.
SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago Well the out of town score boards all going against us today. Normally I would say the season is over if that happened. I would be thrrratening suicide. But I guess gaining 2 games over a weekend series isn’t the worst thing in the world. Playoffs may be on the menu I will live to find out if we beat the Indians

I got apple TV to watch the Blue Jays and the return of Cody Ponce and Vlad searching for a triple crown and Barger cementing himself as a 30 homer guy, and Jays trying to get 100 wins. I bought apple for some of Friday nights of that, and when it all went to hell I just used Apple TV to watch dystopian science fiction instead. So if Jays lose a game in Cleveland watch Silo, Severence or Pluribus. Don't jump! Even I don't consider that. If the Jays fail me, which they probably will Apple TV Dystopian science fiction. If that fails me I will become a Trumper and watch America One News 24/7 **. ** not political just giving better option for SeranthonySantander. SeranthonySantander 1

I guess you are sophisticated enough to know secret links to watch for free. I am not sophisticated, I earn 15k a year and have a $7000 dollar streaming bill each year + 20k in other expenses so am going 14k a year in credit card debt with 33% interest. It adds up to be honest, but thus far they aren't stopping me. SeranthonySantander 1
