It's doubly frustrating to see the Jays' record when you see what they've been getting out of Cease. He's finally turning into that legit, results-based ace he danced around being for years.

Win this one and a sweep will be guaranteed

Hunter Brown is alright but maybe he will be a bit rusty

I wouldn’t guarantee a jays win against a beer league pitcher, they seem to beat the good ones and s*** the bed on worse pitchers

That off day along with Bieber coming back is really going to help the pitching staff.

Lots of green on that chart and now SWR or Miles can piggyback with Corbin to give us a modern day #1-5 for the first time all season.

Probably don't remember off the top of my head the last time that Varland, Rogers and Hoffman only pitched twice in the span of 5 days, so as far as I'm concerned the bullpen is freshly rested as if the season had just begun.

Way too much discussion about how rested the pen is

  • Rogers does not need rest
  • Varland is an animal, does not need much rest just a firm slap on the back
  • Flu throws 91 poo, barely needs rest
  • Fisher is all sliders and curveballs, barely needs rest
  • Who gives a fork what Jeff Hoffman feels like, he owes us everything and he will pitch when we want him to

I feel good about this Luis Urias thing

My tea leaves said a weak little RHB util would be the turning point of the season and I erroneously assumed it was Lenyn Sosa. Happy to have misread the leaves

Piñango's defense is unfortunately rather unplayable which is why I'm not surprised by this move. It's a shame because there's things to like in the hitting profile, but it's tough to have both him and Sanchez - who is somehow an even more brutal fielder at this point - in the outfield at the same time who are two of the same player. Especially now that Lukes is healthy and performing, the options game is going to make Piñango the obvious candidate to be sent down with Sanchez making him redundant.

Classic tweener corner outfield problem

The Jasson Dominguez black hole

It's kind of heart warming to see how much Jasson Dominguez sucks. His exit velos aren't even special LMAO, Pinango clears him and he's a relative nobody pop up prospect, not a guy who was heralded as "the Martian".

Man, I don't know if Sanchez's defense is better than Pinango.

With oaa, Sanchez is 2nd percentile fielder and Pinango looks better than him.

Funny to look back to 2024 trade deadline

https://blogs.fangraphs.com/ranking-the-prospects-traded-at-the-2024-deadline/

A lot of the players doing well for Toronto were just thrown into the 35 FV bucket. Harry, Pinango, Schreck, Wagner. McAdoo. Jacob Sharp has a 122 wRC+

Meanwhile, the 40 FV players Toronto acquired, per Fangraphs, in other words the guys Fangraphs liked a bit more, all suck.

Fangraphs blows and Ross Atkins is amazing.

The Astros placed Abreu on the restricted list Monday since it's possible Abreu is dealing with a visa issue. If that's the case, Abreu will likely miss the series in Toronto.
