Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Well, as disastrously as this series felt in the early going, get a win today and you walk away from the Bronx with a split. It's hard to complain about that. Of course, that requires the Jays to win today... Who is going to follow Fisher today, BTW? SAT SUN MON TUE WED TOT Yariel Rodríguez 0 14 20 0 0 34 Tyler Rogers 11 20 0 0 10 41 Spencer Miles 56 0 0 0 0 56 Mason Fluharty 0 0 0 9 8 17 Louis Varland 26 0 0 6 24 56 Jeff Hoffman 0 0 17 0 8 25 Chase Lee 0 0 0 13 0 13 Braydon Fisher 20 0 27 0 0 47 Adam Macko 0 0 15 14 0 29
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Looks like Fisher, Miles, Yariel, Hoffman and Rogers to close tonight. Macko as the lefty specialist.
jmomcc Verified Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Honestly, 3-4 road swing isn't terrible. So its all gravy today.

Yeah, feels like you hope Fisher can give ya 2, Miles 4, then go from there. I really dont want to see Yariel again perosnally, but that probably cant be avoided.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Still trying to decide if Macko is an MLB guy He does not seem to have a good fastball. He may have a plus slider. His control/command has looked quite solid in his two appearances. I dunno. Not sure about his other offspeed offerings. Like, if it's a deadzone fastball he has to throw 30% of the time, that's not great. Maybe his pitching style can be more like Braydon Fisher's. Not as weird with the high breaking balls and stuff, but maybe just being more of a 20% fastball guy and trying to command junk. Seems like with Macko it would be more traditional, sliders/curves/changeups down.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Must-win today Terminator, Jays24, Smokinitup420 and 2 others 5
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Lefty killers Straw, Sosa and Schneider all in the lineup today Good luck Carlos Rodon Rynodb1, Jays24 and Spanky__99 1 2
Smokinitup420 Verified Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I hate when we face lefties, what’s the point of taking out decent left handed hitters that may run into one and putting in right handed hitters that don’t matter who they face they do nothing
Smokinitup420 Verified Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I would love to eat my words but Sosa and Schneider are not mlb players
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 A lot of lefties just can't hit LHP. It was one AB but Pinango's AB against Tim Hill was really really bad. As bad as they've been, Schneider and Sosa are probably better against LHP. So I don't mind the platoons but I wish we had better short side platoon partners.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Would be nice if Vladdy could carry it today for once His career stats vs Rodon are absolutely nuts:
DownSouthBlueJay Verified Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 I'm tired of seeing Sosa on my dam team. He better not be hitting clean up.

In recent games his top hand is flying off of the bat on his follow through and I wouldn't be surprised if the chronic wrist issue is causing him grief presently. That's starting to seem more likely than just a slump isn't it

Vlad's mechanics look off at the plate and he is swinging at pitches he shouldn't be right now but it looks pretty clear that he's dealing with an underlying issue as well that's affecting his swing.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 21 Posted May 21 Who had Vladdy with more SB than HR on May 21st? That would have been a hell of a prediction. Jays24, Spanky__99 and HomeRunHomer 3
