Valenzuela should get a lot of credit for getting the out at 1st in the bottom 9th. He prevented another walk off by Tigers.

Lol it was an easy play but I get your point with both him and TH throwing the ball away

One back of a while card.  Playoffs wont be that hard to get into.  Still playing meaningful baseball in May which is all the matters

Yep, team has been extremely disappointing so far and they’re not out of it. They really can’t play worse than they’ve been doing lately, so it can only get better from here lol

Blue Jays Playoff odds

Blue Jays Message Board projection system (based on vibes) - 100% easy.

Olerud363 projection system (done on napkin) - 20% 1 in 5 (by my count they are in a race with 10 teams for 2 wild card spots.  I just go 2/10 and don't try to get too fancy projecting quality of team, I give White Sox a shot.)

Fangraphs projection system (based on math and data analysis) - 37%

The Guerrero contract will age badly and end up being the worst in franchise history. It wasn’t a baseball decision. It was a marketing decision based on hype and gross overvaluing of talent. That said signing a 1st baseman with chronic launch angle issues, and an attitude pouting problem was just plain dumb. I’m just thinking that if this continues, where does he play ? Where does he go ? It’s an albatross contract.

Welcome to Jays Centre?

I mean, the Vlad contract will likely age poorly because almost all long-term contracts age poorly. Personally, I'm a believer that the fan experience in a sport matters, and locking down one of the best players in franchise history is worth it.

just watching the highlights....he made things more difficult for himself by setting up on 1 knee.  but he did recover and got the out.  He's super athletic

Goldbug isn't new, all he does is trash Vlad.

Best player in franchise history ? My older son thinks like this. But I disagree. And he occupies 10% of payroll. Just think 10% of payroll on one player who plays a useless defensive position and can’t get balls out of the infield, there’s plenty to be angry about.

Did you actually read what I wrote? I mean, I didn't think I wordsmithed the sentences too much, but I'm about 96% sure "one of the best players in franchise history" and "the best player in franchise history" are quite different statements.
