If you looked at Hoffman's numbers while blacking out the ERA, he looks like a good/decent reliever. Something weird is up with him, a combination of mental game, bad luck, not holding runners, and always pitching in 1-run or tie games.

His high leg kick with runner on first is an auto-steal for the opposing 1st base runner to second.

 

One of the root cause of his so many problems
