    If his complete uselessness continues into next year, would the Jays consider hiding him somewhere in the organization if trade options are impossible or just permanently IL him. Is there precedence for such a crippling contract ? The Chris Davis one in Baltimore comes to mind. I thoroughly believe that the front office was pushed into this by ownership. So we can’t blame Atkins for this mess.

    He’s signed through 2040 and paid big bucks so why should he care. It’s 500 million guaranteed with no opt outs. The team shot themselves in the head with the Vladdy contract.

    Vlad’s at bats are dreadful. He swings at pitches out of the zone and gets himself out. Maybe Schneider is sending a message in response to that.

    I’d move Fatso in a heartbeat. But the contract probably has a no trade clause to every team. He’ll be unplayable at 30 which is three years away.

    Fatso also quoted himself the greatest hitter on the planet and defrauded the Jays front office 500 M. It’s the worst contract in sports history.

    The Jays signed Vlad Jr to a 500 M contract (the dumbest contract in sport) so anything is possible.

    Horowitz has better numbers than Vladdy for like 35 million less. It’s depressing.

    Probably have to wait another 4 weeks for another home run. But he’ll stay make the all star game.

    Best player in franchise history ? My older son thinks like this. But I disagree. And he occupies 10% of payroll. Just think 10% of payroll on one player who plays a useless defensive position and can’t get balls out of the infield, there’s plenty to be angry about.

    The Guerrero contract will age badly and end up being the worst in franchise history. It wasn’t a baseball decision. It was a marketing decision based on hype and gross overvaluing of talent. That said signing a 1st baseman with chronic launch angle issues, and an attitude pouting problem was just plain dumb. I’m just thinking that if this continues, where does he play ? Where does he go ? It’s an albatross contract.
