Omar Old-Timey Member Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Well, well, well.... Despite some early misgivings the bats came alive in the 8th. Oka continues to mash. Valenzuela hit Banda into the shadow realm. The bullpen continues to get it done. Bury them tomorrow. Spanky__99, Waylanderz and jerb 3

He's been chipping in with a lot of big hits in recent games. I like the power potential in his bat a lot if he can find a way to put the ball in play with more frequency. I also have to give acknowledgement to Myles Straw who may be on his way to showing that his solid 2025 season (by his standards) wasn't necessarily a fluke.

It sounds like he's fine as X-Rays didn't show any new damage. I can't even begin to imagine how much it had to hurt getting hit exactly on the broken toe even though he had a guard in place. F*ckin' 🤡's Great to see him grinding it out today. Twins got to him early, but he kept pitching and gave us 7 strong. I have no idea if this is true, but it feels like in the past Cease was the type of guy who when you got to him early, he'd struggle to find it and would end up throwing 100 pitches in 4 2/3's or something. Nice to see him stay aggressive, trust his stuff, find a groove and give us 7.

Although, Cease had allowed 4 runs (3 earned) over 6 innings at the time. For his standards, that wasnt good enough against a horrible Twins squad, which was all I was saying here . Dont need to explain Vladdy lol.

Statcast paints a completely different picture and that's what Fangraphs utilizes to calculate defensive WAR.

Dont need to explain Vladdy lol. You need some context though. In the inning where he gave up 2 runs (1 earned) Klemens hit a weak 77mph single, then Keaschall battled him for an 8 pitch walk (tip your cap), then he got a 65mph swinging bunt groundball out that advanced the runners, and then gave up a 70mph infield single that resulted in one run coming in and a throwing error which scored the 2nd run. That's not bad pitching, that's just s*** luck.

I watched the whole game and thought he was alright but could have been better considering the competition. Hes been good so far this season... just hoping he could go longer in games.
