Well, well, well....

Despite some early misgivings the bats came alive in the 8th.  Oka continues to mash.  Valenzuela hit Banda into the shadow realm. The bullpen continues to get it done.  Bury them tomorrow.

I guess we get irrationally excited about Okamoto now?

He's Troy Glaus

Valenzuela has to get almost every start until Kirky is back

He seems to be settling in nicely.  Love to see it.

He's been chipping in with a lot of big hits in recent games. I like the power potential in his bat a lot if he can find a way to put the ball in play with more frequency. I also have to give acknowledgement to Myles Straw who may be on his way to showing that his solid 2025 season (by his standards) wasn't necessarily a fluke.

No man, he was hit directly on the toe, find out later or tomorrow, wasn't good.

It sounds like he's fine as X-Rays didn't show any new damage. I can't even begin to imagine how much it had to hurt getting hit exactly on the broken toe even though he had a guard in place.

Right, dude goes 7 strong giving up 3 ER and 7K's... sucks, Cease just not good lol... F*ckin' 🤡's

These reactionary fans are just absolute clowns.  Depending on the outcome of a pitch or an at bat, a player can be trash or an MVP. Baseball is a hard game. You fail 70% of the time if you are a good player. How can a ball “fan” be that stupid lol

Great to see him grinding it out today.  Twins got to him early, but he kept pitching and gave us 7 strong.

I have no idea if this is true, but it feels like in the past Cease was the type of guy who when you got to him early, he'd struggle to find it and would end up throwing 100 pitches in 4 2/3's or something.  Nice to see him stay aggressive, trust his stuff, find a groove and give us 7.

I think classic Cease is definitely an inefficient 5 innings

Or 5 clean and then gets destroyed in the sixth

I don't think anybody can/should complain with what we got from Cease so far.

1st in baseball.

Curious what youre using to determine that.  I see us near the bottom in Defensive Runs Saved, Fielding percentage, errors, throwing out base stealers but 2nd in defensive WAR.

7 IP, 3 ER, that's not that much "suck." Lol.

I used suck in quotes because I was just playing on the words.  Although, Cease had allowed 4 runs (3 earned) over 6 innings at the time.  For his standards, that wasnt good enough against a horrible Twins squad.  Dont need to explain Vladdy lol.
