Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Thank god Gausman is on the hill. Lazaro Estrada, Austin Voth and Josh Fleming in bulk pitcher roles the past 3 games made me want to claw my eyes out. Stangstag 1
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted April 7 Posted April 7 instead of fleming could have gone with some combination of rogers/varland/fluharty/hoffman then finish off with fleming

That's how we operate here. Stangstag 1
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Ok so Fleming will be DFA'd today, I wonder what cannon fodder they call up next? With Gausman and Cease lined up I wonder if we could get someone with some actual talent this time. Maybe Chase Lee? And then line Corbin up for one more minor league start before bringing him up?

Lee and Macko are the ones who make sense and are already on the 40 man They could also churn and burn Alcala or Hahn. Or Yariel?

I think Corbin is ready now

Or Yariel? I could see them bringing up a real arm like Lee or Macko and then burning Mantiply when Corbin is ready to join the team (which I hope is soon).
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 7 Posted April 7 5 minutes ago, Stangstag said: I think Corbin is ready now Corbin could come up and pitch in a day or two. He should probably be here indefinitely, even as a long-man once Yesavage is back, given the state of the pitching. Stangstag 1

No spring training and one start against A-ballers but he did look good in that start and has apparently been ramping up a lot on his own. I'm open to anything that doesn't involve watching another version of Voth/Fleming nibbling at the corners with 88 mph slop.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Hell no to Stroman! This is where we will miss the Hounddog. Solid innings eater and steady presence.

I think he was 75 pitches in the Dunedin start so... yeah he's close enough for a bulk role at minimum.
JaysFan99 Verified Member Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Going back to the ALCS, I think the offense is averaging something like 1.33 runs per game in Gausman's last 6 starts. I don't expect today to be any different.

Bassitt has been positively awful to start the season with the Orioles. I think that the timing was right to move on from him as the team pursued higher upside options for the rotation. Stangstag 1
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Time to turn this season around. Starts tonight.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Our run differential is in the shitter. We got the rest of the league right where we want them. First place team with a -50 run differential coming up. Michael Kay's head will explode. The World Series will be easy to make. Smokinitup420, leaffie, Stangstag and 1 other 2 2

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Well they released the lineup already and there hasn't been any reports of roster moves so I suppose that Fleming will survive another day. I guess they might as well keep him around for cannon fodder until they know they will need the innings from his spot.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Fitzgerald supposedly had a locker yesterday. I wonder if the only reason Barger was not put on the IL was that Fitzgerald could not make it to the field in time, or something Stangstag 1
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 7 Posted April 7 How did Barger injure both ankles? Brings back horrible memories of my high school basketball days.
