the lineup is awful. Im not sure why were banking on springer being good again, santander being useful, Barger taking a step forward and literal no injuries to have a decent lineup but thats the team atkins assembled and everything is going wrong.

Said it already but it's tough to face the shite teams to start the season while the Jays themselves are trying to figure things out. Sure it's a tough week,  but it also sucks to not have more games against bottom feeders later in the year.  Silver lining in that the Sox and Rockies are not from our division.

We ran a higher xBA against the White Sox in every single game this series but despite this they outhit us in every game anyway. That last Rockies game was a similar situation. So it's 4 games in a row where we are hitting the ball better than the other team but lost all 4 games.

We aren't playing great and it's the Rox and ChiSox so we should be outhitting them by even more, but some of this is bad luck.

You hate to drop these winnable games but I think the team should be fine and I expect we will give the Dodgers a good series.

Why wouldn't we expect Barger to take a step forward?

Did you miss when we traded for Sanchez after Santander got hurt?  It's not like they sat on their hands.

Apparently Lauer has a real bad flu bug. Maybe going around the room and part of the reason for the sluggish stretch here? Hope so anyways

• the Mariners just lost to the Angels again
• the Red Sox lost their 3rd consecutive series to drop to 2-7 on the year
• the Orioles were swept by the Pirates to drop to 3-6
• that vaunted Yankee bullpen just coughed up 4 runs and counting in the 8th to give up the lead to the Marlins

I remember the exact same issue early last season. Lots of singles, lots of games with 10 hits but only 2 runs.
